I think you’ll find that it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to get tattooed in most countries

I'm happy they never did. Had they though, I would have told them to wait until they are older. I would have allowed them to use the temporary tattoos, the kind that you can peal or wash off, if they wanted to experience having tattoos.

My girl wanted a tongue piercing at some point. I did give in, knowing that it'd close over when she'd remove it and no one would ever know.

A tattoo. Never!
My girl's partner has a lot of tattoos, full sleeves, on his chest etc. I hope and pray she'll use her brain and will never do that to herself.

My son never asked about it. He did have his ear pierced for an earring (very normal in this region with fisherman).

I allowed piercings because they can heal once the fad had gone. Tattoos, never!!! But my baby is an artist and has designed some classy tattoos that she has now, two of them.
She can thank me later.

The only thing I allowed was ear piercing.. Of course, my daughter had her ears pierced..

Then my son wanted to put the gauges in his.. I did agree to that. But only the smaller gauge and the next size up.. Which he finally took out..

But when he came in and said he was going to pierce his tongue I told him no but hell no.. He said, what are ya gonna do if I do it anyway? I said try it you have to sleep I'll pull the damn thing out.. Only thing that most likely changed his mind was his cousin had his pierced and ended up with a really bad infection and Dr. made him remove his for it got infected.. He decided he did not want to do that after all.

As far as Tattoo's again I said hell noooooooo not till you are 18, and pay for them yourself.. But regardless had to be 18..... He was asking at 16..

He did in fact around 19 get his first tattoo.. Then asked me why I made him wait? I told him that at least then he would have enough time to think of what kind of tattoo he wanted and made sure he used a Tatto Artist that was had a good reputation...

He has several on both arms and I have to admit they were all done in good taste. And look pretty darn good...

What surprises me is to see the amount of Tarot readers on YouTube -claiming to be spiritual- with a huge amount of tattoos.
Most of these are women, and many have full sleeves, upper chest, hands & fingers etc. tattooed. What's under their clothes I don't know.
But I don't get how you can be spiritual and do that. To me that doesn't add up.

God has given us such a Beautiful skin. I dont understand why these Poeple want to Misuse it with Arts and Crafts and Piercing and tattooing . Attracting Others should be their Main Intention ! This is what i Think .

Been there done that.

I sat down with them and acted like a father by asking them questions concerning what was leading them to this need and what they hope to gain from it. I asked them (both boys) the type of tat they wanted to get and where they wanted to get it. I explained its harder to remove a tat than to get one.
I explained the wrong tat in the wrong place could jeopardize their future life.

One son decided against it. The other got the tat but in a place hidden with clothing. He later had it reworked to something else. Now adults, all three of my boys and my daughter have tats.

Personally I have no tats and no piercings. I never wanted one, never need to express myself in that manner but I don't have an issue with people who do.
At 14 and 15 my boys were a bit more 'worldly' than others in that age group.

If your child is immature, saying "No" is logical.

Tats are symbols of tribal membership.

If my kid wanted to join a tribe, I tell him to try getting into the ABA.

My daughter had her ears pierced when she was young, but not her first tattoo until she was 21. Both of my sons have tats, the one just has one, the other has lots but only on his arms.

I have several tattoos myself, they are very personal and each one has a story.

I never used to like tattoos, and then in 2016 a tattoo was the only thing that could 100% identify my husbands body. I cannot imagine the pain it would have caused if myself, or any of my children had had to go through the ordeal of going to identifying his body.
