Its a negative statement.... doesn't matter how it's used or misused. I
have only one comment as far as race goes. We are all of the same
race....I refuse to feed a fire such as racism. Usually I dont even
comment because sometimes even talking about it gives poeple a reason to
capitalize on an argument where there should be none. What is beter, a
seperated world...or a united one?

Judgement is something we all do at one time or another, I try to judge
people on what they do not who or what they are.
I have a black s-i-l and he is way better than the white and hispanic
guys she used to date. He works and has since before they got together,
he has never struck her, he's a good father and spends time with their
kids, snd I doubt he has time to be a cheat. Sad to say, the other type
black men out there get more recognition ergo become the stereo type.
One of the greatest people I have ever know told me once (after hearing
a conversation where he disagreed with someone else about the black
race)that he felt it rediculous to judge an entire race by the actions
of a few.

Howareyou......it gets no more precise than that. Our race as a whole
is judged based on the actions of a few jackasses and in the eyes of
some blacks, the stereotypes are mutual. I've been called N!@@er to my
face once in my life and I cannot describe the punishment that I
inflicted while I am online.....but I tell you what, I have not had that
problem since and some people are becoming more open minded (except
Kramer) and they are understanding that America is a huge melting pot of
every culture and race this planet has to offer.......I feel racism is
still strong, but it is not as dominant as it was "fiddy" years ago.

Well James, let me break it down for you......I don't see any people on
here truly pissed about the word as much as we are frustrated with the
context in which the word is used.....this applies to blacks and whites.
I don't have a problem with it unless it flies out of the mouth of an
obvious jackass. If a person feels the need to use that word to provoke
anger, intimidation or maybe even their very own ass beating........then
that person is obviously a "NIGGER". Too many people are bigots and
prejudiced mostly because of ignorance and a fear of something or
someone they can't even begin to understand. Some of those people also
feel threatened by an absolute lack of knowledge and the possibility
that the next person may be smarter, richer, stronger, faster or
whatever.

but why do ppl get so offended by a word? ppl call me a redneck all the
time. i make it a joke, and move on. things just dont get to me like
that. the only ppl who should be offended by a name like redneck,
nigger, cracker, coon, or anything else should be the ones who know that
is EXACTLY what they are, and are ashamed to be that, but would rather
keep that image. as for myself, i know i'm a redneck, i like being a
redneck. its fun! that's why it doesn't bother me

James, look up the history of the word, then maybe you can understand
the animosity it arouses. Redneck is a current cultural slang for
southerners, hey I live in Texas, by therory I'm a redneck. Oops, I also
raise cattle must for ral mean I'm a redneck, we've made Jeff Foxworthy
a millionaire. I don't think anyone actually feels strong negativity
about such a referral, it's not even a fair comparisom.
Suffice it to say, the majority of the people (if not all) do not like
the use of such a word (along with phrases for latinos or other races)
so out of general respect, don't use them or find another site.
If I'm wrong, I'll find a new site.

im not saying it isn't that bad, i, i'm saying black folks arent the
only ones who go through it. whit folks are put through it, too. i'm
still young, and i've seen newer generations run one another into the
ground, and where i'm from, its more of one race dogging others in the
same race. dont get me wrong, one race to another have their fare share,

Sorry James, I can't allow a derogatory word that my ancestors
despised, died for and tried to live under be tranformed into a joke.
Seriously, I have far tooooo much self respect for that. Like I said a
few blocks ago, I handled it accordingly when I was disrespected because
of my skin tone by someone who had no idea who I was and had NEVER been
violated by me.......I was called a NIGGER. Therefore, an ass kicking
was imminent and very well delivered. If the situation comes up again
and the person is within reach, trust me it'll happen again. I look at
it like this, if I'm not acting in a NIGGERISH fashion and I am called
one, then I'll continue to whip ass until my ears don't absorb that word
any longer.
