I posted this in another thread, but I think it fits here better..

It's just that other people judge and label you a racist when you truly are not. Example... I have nothing against people from other countries, religions, and so on. But I do not agree that they all should come here and drain our system. That is NOT racist, yet many see it that way. But I have nothing against these people. I don't want a relationship with someone from another race/culture/religion. Not because I have something against any of those, but because I know it doesn't work with me as it'd bring too many changes that I'm not willing to implement. It's knowing who I am, what I need, what I stand for. Not racism. Yet many will see it that way when mentioned. That's the problem with so called racism. It's gone too far. You cannot say anything anymore or you're a racist. I wouldn't worry about it too much, Crystal. The loonie leftists hijacked the word, so that it's lost it's former meaning. Now it's just a word that is supposed to be a derogatory term to whoever disagrees with the left - so it doesn't really matter. These insane leftist call people like Candice Owens, Jesse Peterson and Sherriff David Clark racist for exposing what is happening in their community. The irony is, the antifascists are fascists, the progressives are regressing, and the ones screaming for tolerance is the most intolerant of them all. Let them call you a racist, it doesn't mean anything anymore. And when there is the real threat of people believing in their superiority, I'm certain that everyone will band together and stop it - just like we did the last time |

Question?
Because I don't want to live in the USA/China/Middle East/Africa etc because I don't like their politics, does that make me racist, or is that a preference labeled as racist? Or simply my right to choose to live where I wish? IMO you are being way to hard on Crystal in this thread. She simply knows who she is and what works for her. |

racism has been a long term act ...
and if you look at what a person has done ...know matter the color or creed... if you do not like that ... it always is not racism... it is a difference of opinions ... that is how I try and look at things in life ... but I was also raised in a time of racism ... but I grew up to make my own mind up about things ... |

I am gonna defend 'preference', to a degree. If, through actually dating outside of one's own race, or culture... And, honestly giving it a try. Walking the walk. The person decides, maybe it's just not for them. I don't see that, as being racist, or intolerant. Because, at least they gave it an honest try. I feel, that denying a person the right to a preference, under those circumstances, is, in and of itself, a form of unacceptable intolerance. Now, if you've never met a person of the other race before today... And, you refuse to shake their hand, for fear it (color) might rub off? Well, yeah... That's racist as Hell. I don't feel anyone has to prove anything by dating other races. In general it is us Caucasians who are accused of being racist -I don't agree this is correct. And although I get what you're getting at your statement would mean it is now obligatory/mandatory for ALL Caucasians to date people from other races? WTF??? Or -in case the person is already involved- must have friends from other races, or try that out. If someone doesn't hold racist beliefs why would they have to prove that? Racism = treating a group of people in an inferior way based on race and making derogatory statements about them. Not wanting to be in relationship with someone from another race in itself has nothing whatsoever to do with that UNLESS you treat that race as described above. It's just preference and knowing what resonates with you, just like you can prefer a taller, shorter, thin etc. partner. Crystal, I wholeheartedly agree with your right, and everyone else's right, to have preferences. Being called racist? Being labeled for having a preference? Means nothing. Ignore it. I don't know any of your dating history, as it's NONE OF MY BUSINESS. But, you have posted to the effect, that you have at least walked outside of your own country and culture. And, from my point of view, that gives you every right to have preferences Thank you :) And yes, I have indeed. I like to steep myself in a culture when I'm living in it to really get a feel for it, learn about the people, their language etc. One of the best times in my life was when I lived in the Aboriginal community next to Uluru, central Australia. I've written a book about my time with the Aboriginals. Not published yet. |

IMO we all are racist to some degree, even if we say we are not. I am not going to hang out with ISIS, or the Cannibals of Papua New Guinea because it would be said I am intolerant. |

And no one made this topic about me except for ... you. To be honest I feel your entire argument is naff, bearing in mind you happily had conversations in which you happily knocked the English, consistently calling them 'pigs' even. And now you want to make out to have clear norms and values? Does not compute in my book... |

Also this."To be honest I feel your entire argument is naff, bearing in mind you happily had conversations in which you happily knocked the English, consistently calling them 'pigs' even." I have explained to you before, we and the English are happy bantering eachother, you are the only one that comments about it, because you do not understand, but that's another story.. |

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Crystal. The loonie leftists hijacked the word, so that it's lost it's former meaning. How ironic. Is ironic, Bastet - Or did you just prove my point? Trying to call me a derogatory name for pointing out what the leftists like to do. I nowhere defined what racism was nor did I preach anything other than the tactics that the left like to deploy, and how the word lost its meaning because of it. When a leftist's argument has no merit, they resort to name calling. Thank you for beautifully illustrating my point. I agree with you Ladywind, they are being harsh to Crystal, and that's what made me speak to this in the first place You are also right, Dino. The thread was not about Crystal _ but once there was an opposing view, someone certainly made it about her |

Or simply my right to choose to live where I wish? IMO you are being way to hard on Crystal in this thread. She simply knows who she is and what works for her. if the assumption is that everyone in China, the Middle East, or Africa is the same and therefore they would all have the same 'politics' wherever they went, then that is kind of nationalist, anytime we assume we know what individuals want or will do only based on where they are from or what their ancestors were, it is a prejudgment that counts as a type of bigotry... At the end of the day it makes more sense to make the assumption that if one is coming to the USA, they also do not want to live somewhere else, |
