Perplexed.

Wondering why my smoke alarm went off when there was nothing to set it off. Hmm......

Oh gosh, enough to give you a good scare for sure! I've had that happen as well. Late at night. Wonderful!

PS if it measures carbonmonoxide too... is it hanging next to the central heating, or don't you have gas?
Maybe new battery? Or new smoke alarm. That's what I ended up doing...

It’s on the ceiling in the middle of the hallway. It’s hardwired and not sure how to isolate it if I needed to :grimacing:

I actually thought it was an alarm on a programme I was watching so I put the tv to mute as the noise was annoying me and when the noise didn’t stop, I thought “bloody hell, that’s my smoke alarm making that noise” haha

My alarms are wired as well.
If it chirps chances are the battery is low on charge or dying.
If it fully sounds it may be air composition setting it off (not sure) but when mine did it I checked for smoke found none, opened the doors and cleared the air in the hall. It shut off and didn't fire again.

If it keeps setting off the only way to disable it is to unscrew it and pull the wiring connector (it works even when the battery is dead as long as you have electricity).
You can use a broom handle to press the test button. It should chirp but not stay on.
I had to replace one of mine because it wouldn't chirp but it would set off in the night.
I have 12 foot ceilings and air pools in the hallway.

Thanks for the advice Tom. To stop the alarm I just pushed the button and it stopped. Luckily it hasn’t come back on but knowing my luck it’ll do it at midnight haha. If it does go off again, I’ll follow your advice flowerforyou

Slightly annoyed with myself. I need to get a few things done around here but I just can't raise the enthusiasm required.

Happy that the owner of the gas station finally put up plexiglass shields in front of the registers

Sounds like how I'm feeling.
I have yet another day where I feel sleepy.
My tinnitus is also worse, but that may still be after effect of having mowed part of the lawn yesterday. That's why I didn't do more of it today.
But I'm so danged sleepy, kind of deflated, and I'm not sure why.

Could be the full moon energies, it's intensifying the already chaotic energy out there. Plus we're still feeling the effects of the Jupiter Pluto conjunction. We're going through a process of shedding that which no longer serves us and awakening to higher vibrations, so to speak, so it makes sense that that transformation would make us tired. Even if you've already awakened to higher vibrations, it would still effect you in the sense of going even higher or more complete, more balanced.

Hopefully it's this and not you getting sick.

I been feel lazy today.....it's not an excuse, it's the reason I didn't do squat today. Fortunately I don't have to listen to anyone complain that I didn't do squat......not that I would care if someone complained. laugh
