Topic: Marijuana: Beneficial? | |
---|---|
I still don't see why they do not make weed legal or at least cut down heavily on the laws. Before I go any further, I will have probably two main types of people commenting on this: 1.Those who have never tried, never tried a drug in their life, is completely against drugs, and thinks that what I am saying is nonsense. 2. People who smoke weed. Now that I've broken that down... on with the rant. I've never viewed Marijuana as a drug. In fact, it isn't. It's just an herb. I started smoking when I was 16. Yes, being so young and not really knowing, I used weed to deal with problems or just to chill me out when depression or anxiety would hit. I am 21 now, and I still smoke regularly. I've never been able to point out anything wrong with Marijuana. I have, however, found that is does the following for me: 1. Help me breath easier (Yes, Weed does this.) 2. Have a spiritual experience. 3. Allows me to use both parts of my brain. 4. Become more creative. 5. Allows me to chill out. 6. Allows me to be fully alert yet relaxed at the same time. 7. Allows me to become more mathmatical. 8. Allows me to have very deep, intelligent conversations. And that is a limited list, mind you. Just because it does all of this for me doesn't mean it will do the same for you. Yes, some people can't smoke weed because of how it affects them. That's fine. My main point is maybe there is a lot more to Marijuana than we may know. It's been nothing but successful when prescribed to people with cancer. It has also worked wonders with people who suffer from asthma, head aches, arthritis, people who came out of surgery, and even people who suffer from ADD or depression. So, if you are against weed, why not do some more research. |

I agree to a certain point. If it is used diligently or for pain great but if you've got a potentially lazy person and they smoke weed, it accentuates the laziness and they get nothing constructive done.
I believe it should have the same restrictions as alcohol, no operating heavy machinery including a car, no using at work, no public acting out on it or you get a public nuisance ticket, etc...... It does not cause any more physical problems than alcohol does, with the liver disease and stuff like that. Not a big deal to me one way or the other. |

sigh.. cause if its legal more people will do it..
i have done it and well.. we dont people running around legally on the **** being that way.. medically for like cancer fine.. but more than that is kinda ridiculous. |

Weed is only a misdemeanor whereas coca, meth, etc. are felony. The reason they don't make weed and other drugs legal is because, they can make more money while it's outlawed IMO.
Dealers can make more money while it's illegal than if it was legalized. The courts make money with fines and court costs. Companies have a reason to fire you if they want to save some money, but you're a good worker. That's just my opinion. |

Weed acts different for a lot of people.
One person may be lazy when being sober and still lazy when high. Another person may be able to get things done faster when they are high. It's different for a lot of people. And then again, it's all in our mind. |

But as you said, it's all about the money. |

Ok well Im neither of those 2 types of people
3 weeks ago I quit smoking pot after 14 years The reason why I will leave for myself. But since I feel much better not to mention I was spending 400 a month on Cali Kush I could be driving a mercedes instead of that Now they say weed enhances your mind but I dont really think so It seems to enhance my mind without smoking I believe I was and still am an addict of it. I mean I guess I could do a hit here and there but I felt that I couldnt do anything without it Granted now Im very bored So i dunno about it beneficial i do miss mary a lot but i guess i grew out of it While reasearh and successful drug policy should be increased and law enforcement decreases while abolishing mandatory minimum sentences the prison system population has more than doubled since 1985 and for what an herb? but yea it should be legalized but regulated alcohol is way worse |

i smoked weed for years and quit because i'm sick of it. THC is proven to lower sperm count, motor functions, and impair judgement. if you want to smoke it 20 times a day that's completely up to you, it's not my place to judge. i just choose to not do it. and they actually have relaxed about it in some states. in minnesota it's now "decriminalized" basically if you get caught with weed they issue you a ticket and it's like an $80 dollar fine and petty misdemeanor on your record. if you have an ounce or more the fine doubles and when you're caught with a pound or more it's a felony and a year probation. so laws are changing on the matter (i believe it's because cops are finally realizing there's worse drugs out there like meth), but it's stil not legal. and IMO it shouldn't be...not trying to offend anyone, just voicing my views on the matter...

Yes, it's all about your mind when getting high, it doesn't matter if it's weed or something harder, even alcohol. Of course each method/ substance has its own high, but you can manioulate that high within your mind, because it's an altered state of mind.
I don't know if what I was trying to say came out or if I weas just babbling there, but yeah that's pretty much how it goes. I think all drugs should be legal because I feel it's our right to get high if we chose, as long as we are not harming others. |

weed can be a felony depending on how much you have in your possession. at least in colorado, anything over an oz. is a felony.
and anybody that really thinks they function better on weed i.e. being more creative and making you smarter try setting up a video camera and taping you and couple friends while your high. also i can safely say it's not because the government makes mor money with it illegal. look at what they make in fines and medical - what they spend in drug enforcement. now compare that to the taxes they make on alcohol, now which do you think is more? granted i see no problem with weed being legal and being treated like alcohol but there really isn't a sobriety test you can do to test for it. i've gotten threw road sides stoned off my ass and it isn't really practical to try and do pee tests on the side of the highway. we have enough drunk bastards out on the roads as it is we don't really need stoned ones too or even worse drunk and stoned.perhaps if the general public acted a little more responsible then they do it would work, right now i would say no. |

Alot of people in the addictions field would view pot as a gateway drug which means they would start there and venture to other drugs.
All those things that you say weed does for you can be obtained naturally. What we call resin is really tar and after years of continued use I cannot believe that one breaths better. Just my opinion. |
Yes, all of that can be obtained naturally. I have no problem finding it naturally.
However, I like weed. |
I think one of the attractions to weed is that it is illeagal. If it was legal, I don't think as many people would try it.
I agree that weed can be completely bennifical
but not for all people but did I miss some thing weed is natural It was put on this earth for a reason and all of these medications the docs put people on have horrible long term effects whereas weed doesn't not have as many effects on people we would all lead healthier lifes I think if they would legalize it but yes then they will not make tohe money off of us so the will not |
Poppy is also natural. Opium has even been used for medical purposes, and still is.
I think it was Bayer (not sure if it was them or some other company) that started out selling heroin and giving out free samples, then they made asparin. |

the emperor wears no clothes by jack herer www.jackherer.com now in the 11th or 12 th edition as the founder of the 4:20 thread here and an advocate for over 40 years i ask all of you who are truly interested to please read the book to learn of the herb and also all of its amazing uses, how in WWII most everything was made of hemp, on the USS Constitution and other ships... the flags , the maps, the ropes, the uniforms, the planking, the log books , journals etc. and how it came under fire when William Randolf Hearst and John Dow of Dow chemical had investments in products like forestry and petroleum products that were in direct competition with the versatile highly useful plant called hemp and so they spread propaganda in their newspapers, blatant lies about it... to make it illegal you can find the entire book online |
