Not a humble brag believe me, Always been happy to take a back seat and let past partner or my female friends take the limelight, I don't like ego stroking. I know after reading some of the posts about people not liking it, wasnt keen myself but for a good friend capturing it in would not use it.

in all fairness, compared to some of the body parts hanging out on pics here, I find it acceptable as my photo is there for ID rather than trying to gain me any sexual conquests. If that time ever comes, then there will be only ever one Woman that side of me belongs to.

If you really believe you look like "I've a face like a bulldog licking pee off a nettle?" then "Houston, we got a problem." One must have a low self esteem to think of themself as that and if that is the case, not a humble brag.

I know I look good and in one of the forums I said I looked 50 and I'm 73. That is a brag.

But in your case, you look good and yet you put down yourself that low, that is humble brag.

About sticking out your tongue on your main pic, some women will just ignore your profile... one of those lovely women might just be what you are looking for.

To all -> I'd never lie about my age (many women guess me at about 50), I'm real and what is the purpose of that esp since it would be to someone I would possibly like to meet? Maybe if I lived in a fantasy virtual world I would. I'll be 63 in a couple of weeks.

they don't respond to me either. they never did . and it didn't matter what I put or say in my profile. I have sent messages ever way you can think of and in ever fourm imaginable it's all good their lost . I do in better in person then online hands down it's not even funny. they either like what tney see or they don't.

Very true I don't write to anyone if they don't have a picture or don't want to take the time to have a profile

After I put restrictions on who I wanted to message me, I stopped getting responses. That's okay...I was tired of dealing with really young men who were hundreds of miles away. Most of them, after I pointed out that reading my profile would be a good thing, came up with the age is just a number and as for distance, they're willing to relocate. That's even more annoying.

I have been on this and other dating sites for a while. I would have thought I would find someone by now, but most of the women I meet turn out to be liars with pictures that aren't even them and live somewhere other than what they put in their profile! Why would any woman do that if she is looking for a serious relationship?

I have a bad photo, and a big profile, and all the responses are not very active at all within hours. But I've given up trying and don't expect anything on a free site anyway, I'm just here for laughs and whinges. And heaps of photos of young ladies who disappear and re-appear, and trade names and locations, and always only want your email address.

Get a reasonable photo, a bit of blurb about yourself, and don't hold your breath.

Anyone that pays for this site must have more money than sense, I came on to see what all the fuss was about, found that there is more chance of meeting the Easter bunny or Santa, but I liked the whinging and laughs on the forums so stayed for that, I would have to be in agreement with notbeold.. Bloody marvellous way of letting off a bit of steam internationally without the cost of travelling

Almost all of my responses have been from scammers. I never knew that so many 25 year old models would be so eagre to make my acquaintance None of that matters, you only need one response from the right person.

especially when the game is on the telly.

And, I see the normal response of no photos, no messages. Then I see "Oh yes we do!".

It would be different if I sent vulgar messages, birthday suit photos, or just flat out asked for sex. I do none of the above.

Wanna get right down to it? I find it very irritating. Or, if you like, plain old RUDE. Don't give me weak reasons, saying you would, IF. I've moved past that. I'm not speculating anymore. After six years of dating site turndowns by saying nothing, I just don't bother anymore. I no longer do this >
