Topic: questions that believers are afraid to answer | |

Toast; don't be so sure darlin. A lot of Scientist are now claiming a correlation. Finding mutual agreements which are God-like AND scientific. I would suggest researching and reading a little more. I have done some reading sir. I have no desire to argue with you or anyone else. I am simple and think for myself as do you. You do not ask any questions that I haven't in my past. I was hard core agnostic for much of my years. Questioned everything. Still do.....but have since been shown and given reason to believe. Not by a book, not by any certain person. Not church. Or any organized religion. I was given a gift...and that gift has changed the who of me and the life path I now choose. I am a better person for it. As long as it works for me...I will have nothing but good words for you. Not to say I don't get mad, cause I do. Just now....I do not hold onto it. It is gone almost as fast as it arrived. I will harbor no ill thoughts. Kat those are scientist striving to make a connection, when real science is used to disprove things and cancel out theories |

All I can say is; you would be mistaken.
The book I spoke of earlier was written by scientist that did not believe in God. They were trying to disconnect the two. In doing so; made a connection. I cannot remember the other one. It also is showing promise. I will try and remember it. A true scientist will at least try hard to figure it out. I for one will not take science lightly, nor will I close my mind to caution. Kat |

The biblical picture of God can be difficult to comprehend, I agree with you. I refrain from saying that I don't believe it all, instead, I simply don't understand it all.
This is the best answer I have ever seen in a religion thread. |

but being christian does not mean you are a second class citizen and should have to accept people taking shots at your faith
If you think that Christians are the only people who experience this think again. A fellow just started a proselytizing thread entitled, “Read this if you have time for God”. What does he say in his opening post? He basically says that either you believe that Jesus Christ is God or you follow Satan! Talk about taking pot shots at other people’s faiths!!! That’s a napalm bomb! It basically says that anyone who doesn’t believe in Christianity is a devil worshiper! Christians take pot shots at all other faiths all the time and don’t even seem to realize that they are doing it! So why would you feel like you are a ‘second class’ citizen when the very religion that you support is infamous for belittling the faith of all other religions? Then when those other faiths strike back all the Christians start screaming “Foul!” But they are the ones who slung the First Mud! If you choose to belong to an arrogant religion then you’ve already made that choice. It’s a little late now to be claiming defense, when in fact the religion you belong to is itself an inherently offensive religion! |

FOWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! Easy Abra...easy boy. My ingrown is killing me. Kat I hope your ingrown gets better Kat. It's true though. When I read Christian proselytizing propaganda that claims that people either worship Jesus Christ or they are sinners siding with the devil it just makes my blood boil! That's the most hypocritical face of Christianity ever! And it is indeed an insult to all other beliefs, faiths, and philosophies. Then they scream foul when the mud is slung back at them??? If a person wants to live in a glass house they should learn to not throw stones. |

Just a fair warning to those that would not want to be a part of anything God? Kat |

I agree with the comment that James is disputing, but also believe everyone can believe whatever they want. |

I think Abra is making a fair claim. There are Christians who do this. I'd just like to remind everyone that not all Christians are like this and lets not stereotype. If we can keep this thread calm and open minded, we can claim the title of "mature" and share ideas cooperatively. Mud slinging and name calling is really not needed. Just my opinion.
Obviously, the individual who opened that other post is immature in his faith. Ideally, even he/she doesn't need to be chastised. Just don't respond and get caught up in all that! |

James; I really think he was just trying to be cautious for others. I do not think he was trying to pick on anyone. I'm sure that there was no evil intent on the part of the man who posted it. In fact, that's a big part of what I'm saying. Many people offend others unintentionally via their proselytizing efforts, and don't even realize that they are doing it. They just think they are trying to save souls. My anger is not directed at the actual person who's doing it, but to the religion that creates this mindset in the first place. |

I did mean it.....because I think alot of people don't really understand what they are reading...so therefore they dispute it. |

I did mean it.....because I think alot of people don't really understand what they are reading...so therefore they dispute it. So true. The pieces fit together as you study, read, and experience more. How many times have we gone back and read something again and gained a new insight? Pretty cool the way that works. |

Fungus, you always ask loaded questions... then make fun of people for trying to answer them... get a hobby baby.... Religion is not science and science is not religion. They both have their place...plain and simple...
Ok let the bashing begin fungus.... |
