Topic: Some Things That Put you Off when Looking at Profiles? | |
---|---|
My pet peeves (in no particular order):
1. People who demand that you go to some web site in order to chat to them; I block them immediately. 2. People who totally ignore what you write and just say that they want sex. 3. People who post fake pics. Nowadays I always check pictures on Google to see if they are just copied from the internet. 4. People who demand money. I always report them to the site admin as scammers. 5. people who cannot write proper English. The most common one is when they mean "you're" but write "your". As a writer myself, that really annoys me! 6. People who say they are in England on their profile, but when you get chatting it turns out that they are in the USA or Ghana or somewhere. 7. People whose entire profile consists of "No answer". I think that just about covers it! |

In my experience, it doesn't matter what you say in the first message, what your profile says, what your picture is like - you still get ignored!

What puts me off most is the usual problem of people not reading my profile and realising that they are completely outside my consideration. The other thing (and this is largely my own fault) is when I politely message someone (usually plausible seeming people) saying 'Thank you but...' and they completely ignore this and reply with whatever scripted message they use.

-mirror selfies, especially if in the bathroom and no shirt on
-guys who frown, don't smile in photos -guys who are unshaven, messy looking, wearing undershirts etc -those who don't read my profiles to see what I am seeking -perverted profile names, or too many sexual innuendos in their profile. I always say, act like you are meeting someone in a grocery store, would you say something crude then? |

I should have added all your points to mine....lol, you are not the only one getting these scammers, it is ridiculous and kudos to you for doing your research and smoking them off this site.

Profiles with multiple people in the picture, so you can’t tell which person it belongs to.
Profiles that make it clear the dog is the most important “person” in their life. Profiles with mirror selfies designed to put the butt on display. Profiles with more than three selfies (makes me wonder if they might be a narcissist). Profiles with pictures that have dog ears and nose superimposed. And this is a weird one for me but... belly button rings. Yuck. |

Shirtless pictures.

YES! The "unnatural ones".. if it's a random beach picture, fine.. but to take a shirtless selfie.. where I can see your bathroom or bedroom... uck! 🤢

When viewing a profile male or female, what things would make you think twice when looking for a potential partner/relationship or friend? Here are one or two of my put offs ~ 1. They show the top half of their body, naked. 2. They are laying on a bed or couch in a seductive way 3. They are holding an alcoholic drink or cigarette in their hand or are surrounded by alcohol. 4. Misspelt words. 5. They are clearly lying about their age. 6. They are 30 years your junior and their starting line is "Hey Babe"? Do you have any pet peeves? I hate all the spamming, scamming, prostituting, etc. I already know the uber-hotties barely dressed (or not at all) are not real. |

1. A profile name that let's you know they are only interested in sex.
2. No picture or a picture that's older than 5 years. 3. No info in the profile, a lot of "tell you later"s, no hobbies or interest. 4. Posting children in your profile. It's creeps out here, protect the babies! 5. Profiles only looking for hook ups or friends with benefits. 6. Lying about your age. If your profile says you're 39 and you look like you've lived 39 years old twice....hard and fast, that's a no go. 7. Saying you live in one area but you actually live in another area. I have seen profile where men say they live in Georgia, USA and in the profile it says they live in Guam but will be moving to Georgia in 6 months. |

I always say, act like you are meeting someone in a grocery store, would you say something crude then? What? So I'm the grocery store, and the woman had just put two cantaloupes in her car, and I said "You've got some nice cataloupes there, lady", and she got all upset! Damn Karens! |
