medicaid.......welfare I believe???? Ok, yes it can be done....but if your child were really sick, walking it to the closest hospital isnt the best option.

I have friends in your situation jayme and its really hard. If it does happen, you will have to always watch your money for things that may happen ahead. I know too many women who blow their entire "welfare" cheque and then something bad happens and they are screwed.

Oh and btw jayme......I have money because Im a bit of a money wizard to saving for things that could happen in the future. Ive had to become that way because I have a child and was a single mom for a long time.......

And guess what, I haven't had to worry about any of that. NO medicaid doesn't = welfare. Medical care PERIOD is expensive, you have to practically be donald trump to not qualify for it. Some of us weren't blessed with that kind of money, and seeing as how we just moved a few months ago funds have been a little tight but they're working themselves out thank you very much.

Yes, medical care IS expensive. I don't think you have to be Donald Trump and I don't think it's an issue of being blessed with that kind of money. It is an issue of working hard to get a good job where you can afford insurance.

Things to consider doing BEFORE you get pregnant.

I wouldn't be ON welfare... I take care of my nephew while my mother works and the state compensates for child care that she can't afford, they actually compensate quite well, enough to cover bills and then some for right now. I am getting a digital camera so I can start selling all kinds of things on ebay, got lots of antiques and old albums that will help. IF I WERE pregnant, the obvious thing would be find a part time on top of all that so I can still take care of my nephew while my mother works... sadly in this town they've been rude about me needing specific hours for that reason. I've always found creative and legal ways to make enough money to survive between jobs. And then there's HIM who I KNOW wouldn't desert me b/c I know him well enough to know that no matter how scared he is, he's still not a dead beat. I have all kinds of family around here that would help me out with child care if I had to ask them while I worked. I'm tryin to set it up where I can just buy things for cheap and sell for higher on ebay. I'm wanting to get my own out of home thing going so I don't have to worry about relying on other people for my wellbeing and whether or not i get money every week or not. I've got friends that do that and they make ALOT with the same types of antiques I have.. so I'm gonna give that a shot and see what happens. IF I really thought I were pregnant I'd be more worked up about it and more eager to add more to that pile, but for right now I'm good.

I wasn't TRYING... god, why do you people seem to think that I can control what my body decides to do? I was told a LONG time ago that I CAN'T HAVE KIDS!!! IF by some out of this world miracle it happened I'd figure it all out and it'd be on MY shoulders to figure it out, NOT YOUR'S! My mother has a vehicle and if I were preggers I'd just take her to work and keep the van all day... that would work just fine until I can get my own vehicle. And YES, I'd keep living with my mother b/c it'd still be cheaper on everyone with her and I splitting bills and there's more than enough room in this house for another kid.

I have more than a clue, thank you very much. Um food... I can afford food, shelter.. check... daycare... I have 2 aunts who stay home with their kids and if I got hours that were opposite of my mother's or can get the ebay thing going the way I want it then that would be taken care of. I'm alot smarter than you people are giving me credit for. you don't have a damn job and your in your twenties and are thinking about having a child............if your not preggo thank-god..........and if you are don't even bank on hte fact that he's going to take care of you and the child........you may think you know him but things have a habit of changing when a man feels backed into a corner and i can guarantee you he feels that way right now from what your saying.........by the way if the state can compensate for childcare so you can watch the nephew they can compensate so that an actual childcare can watch the child nad you can get an actual job that pays a decent wage so you can afford this child you seem to be so happily planning

Personally, I think a woman can sleep with as many people she wants to, whenever she wants to. I don't consider "promiscuity" a bad thing. However, if one is going to have sex, one should have the maturity and forethought to use a damn condom, every time.

Previously in this same thread you said the doctors told you there was a slim chance you could get pregnant. You also said you didn't care if you got pregnant and would love to have a child. That is why you were not concerned about using protection.
