Cannabis has many, many uses & benefits. I live in WA near Portland,OR & go to many meetings each month to network & learn about cannabis. Any body care to add to this?

Shame it isn't legal in TX. I HAVE to put myself in the line of fire flying it from Denver to Houston.

I recently worked on some audio of a council meeting in , I think it was Georgia, regarding medical marijuana use. Its very interesting stuff. I think it should be approached like alcohol was. I dont think prohibition helps as much as it hurts by encouraging a dangerous illegal element and I believe people can use it responsibly just like they can alcohol. I think laws for abuse and dangerous use or contributing to the delinquency of a minor, et, cetera, should stay in place. But I dont think that it should be so 100 percent banned.

I used to smoke it.
I don't smoke it now.
I don't mind being around it when it is being smoked.
I don't care if anyone smokes it.
If it interfears with my relationships I will end the relationship because of that interference but the pot isn't the reason.

There's a time and a place for any recreational use but if it threatens your job or your relationships you have an addiction problem.
If you're not paying your bills so you can buy weed, yer priorities are out of whack.

I went to college in the late 70's. It was everywhere.

I had it for the first time last year in CO.
I thought I should try it just because.

I don't have a problem with others who use it responsibly.

I don't like it, the effects of it or the way it smells... the smell of it is pretty gross to me and makes me feel sick. Needless to say, I don't want to be around it.

I don't have any objection against people who use it for MEDICAL reasons.
Which is lawful here.

It's illegal for recreational use here and needs to stay that way. IMO

I think it makes you look at yourself, and I think that's a good thing. I've known quite a few people, who'll take ****. Loads of drugs and drink. Smack, crack, Valium, super strong beer, they'll do the lot untill the cows come home. But then they'll wrinkle their face up, and shudder, if offered a spliff, and say, noooo, I won't touch that stuff

"To qualify to receive medical marijuana in Texas, the Compassionate Use Act states that you must be a permanent resident of the state and suffer from “intractable epilepsy.” That’s the only way you can ingest even a minuscule amount of THC without breaking the law."

Any body care to add to this?

Probably nothing that hasn't been said before a million times.
I personally just worry about legitimizing Mexican and South American drug cartels.
And I worry about shifting food crops towards the production of recreational pharmaceuticals (kind of like shifting food crops towards energy production).

I don't think it matters much what the government does/says about it. That obviously hasn't stopped anyone.

The biggest inhibiting factor, IMO, are employers and random drug tests.

I wonder about the future of lawsuits regarding that.

Basically "pots legal! They shouldn't have the right to fire me for doing something legal!"

Other than that:

Good for you for having a hobby and making friends.

Humm that is not the only way.. My nieces bf last year went through colon cancer we live in Texas... He went to Houston for treatment and he received medical marijuana. Without it he would even tell you, he would not have been able to make it through all the treatments ect.. He has a Colostomy Bag now but cancer free...

Even I was surprised he was given medical marijuana since we live in Texas but was happy to hear he was able to use that and cut down on pain pills as well as meds to keep him from getting sick...

No no no no, I don't smoke it no more. Got tired of waking up on the floor. Don't ask me please it only makes me sneeze. And then it makes it hard to find the door.

I just made .. what I call CANNA-CREAM.. I used HEMP, Coconut Oil, - rendered that down and strained it.. added essential oils - mint/rosemary/wintergreen, added beeswax, and some glycerin.. Using it as a topical for cuts/burns/sores .. hoping it will help with some local pains. It should have a lot of CBD in it.. too bad we can't get it tested..

Well, the brownies i got are really small, but potent. They are maybe ¾ inch square. I had half of one during the day, then didn't have the horrible shoulder/arm pain overnight, which has gone on for a year. I appreciated the relief.
