All businesses can either make themselves desirable to others or they can be put on the black list of places to go. I do feel if you open a business you should serve all that walk in the door to buy what ever your selling.. As long as they are respectful regardless what their out look on things that one might not agree with.. But for those places that choose not to, they need to be reminded that they could be in fact cutting their own throats on flourishing within the business market. But with the way businesses are doing things today like refusing to make a cake for a gay couple.. Ya know even if you don't believe in their lifestyle look at all the business they lost over one cake.. It could have went the other way and they could have a booming business.. They made a call and suffered the consequences... I know all have the right to serve who they want to all I can say is don't cry when the choice they make bites them in the azz in the end.. To many are ready to Boycott Businesses that refuse service anymore.... |

I rented to a lesbian couple a few years ago. Some of the best tennants I've ever had.
I've also rented to people who I have no respect for. Everyone in the family on disability and milking the system etc. To me it's just business. |

I build places. And frankly it is none of my business what my customers do or don't do. What they believe in or don't believe it. If they are Dem or Rep. They came to me to supply services. I supply them and they pay me.
It's that simple. |

That certainly isn't anything new. For as long as I can remember people have been shunned by their communities for their views and their actions. Just because a business exists doesn't mean they must serve you, sell to you. oh how true, and that is beauty of free markets , the market determines if you made the right decision. Personally I think the restaurant has a right to refuse service to Mrs.Huckabee if it violates their policy. Just like Mrs.Huckabee the classy lady that she is didn't make a stink about it. Now if people avoid that restaurant because of the owner decision so be it, she could have made a stink and said the restaurant was discriminating against her beliefs as its her 1 st amendment right So Democrats what is the difference between discriminating against a political party vs discriminating against a person for religious beliefs like not baking a cake for same sex wedding nuptials? Please explain . This is almost correct. However, your challenge at the end, is off target a bit: since it is Republicans who decided that it's a-okay to turn people away from a public business simply because you don't like them, THEY are the ones who need to recognize as you mostly have, that there is no difference between turning people away because they are gay, and turning them away because they are Republican. What you should be saying is, that BOTH parties need to show consistency: for this scenario, to be consistent, the REPUBLICANS should be PRAISING the owner of the restaurant for throwing them out. And the Democrats should be condemning her. |

Think about it, if you truly believe there's a place called hell, and you truly believe if you bake the cake, you'll go there. Do you really care how much business you lose? But then, how many people have religious beliefs that are truly "sincere"? |

As long as they are respectful regardless what their out look on things that one might not agree with.. I dont agree with that kristi, unless its a business that serves the public need like transportation , a private business isnt there to serve the public needs, the business there to serve their self interest by fulling a market demand or need. But for those places that choose not to, they need to be reminded that they could be in fact cutting their own throats on flourishing within the business market. that is why free markets work, the market decides not bureaucrats.

They made a call and suffered the consequences... they didnt lose business because of their choice, they lost business because of the backlash and tactics of the people protesting them, threatening people who use their service, they had to shut their doors for safety reasons, that isn't fair or the American way.
I know all have the right to serve who they want to all I can say is don't cry when the choice they make bites them in the azz in the end..
sad isn't it?

LOL
![]() How come people in today's world think that if they have the money and I am in business that I must sell to them? What makes people think that if I am in business selling widgets to my community that I am driven only by profit? Who are you to tell me what I consider is a success? Who are you to tell me who I do business with? How narcissistic. ![]() |

I'm as straight as a flag pole, but if I had the bucks, I would open a chain of bakeries that specialize in nothing but big cakes shaped like d^cks.
I'd hire people from that Queer Eye show to run them, and kick back and watch the money roll in. ![]() ![]() |

If I were a flag maker, I would not CREATE a flag for someone who was going to use it at a flag burning. I would still sell them the available flags displayed for everyone else though. That would go for ANY customer trying to buy it.
If I were a vegan baker, due to pacifist standards, I would not create a vegan cake for someone that was going to serve it at a pig roast. That would go for ANY customer trying to buy it, whether a fellow vegan or a carnivore. If I am a Christian bakery owner, I would not create a same sex wedding cake for a same sex wedding. That would go for any customer trying to buy it, whether Christian, atheist, straight or gay. I think venue is often tied to the reputation of the vendors involved where small businesses are concerned especially, so WHERE a creation will be served/associated with, would be important to me. I feel that is different than just not offering ANY service to a person because of who they are or what they believe in though. |

Okay. Recently Sarah Sanders was kicked out of a restaurant after ordering appetizer with her party because they wanted to uphold certain 'morals' they did at least give her the respect to talk to her privately and politely ask her to leave (no police were called) and they did not accept any payment for the appetizers but is this what we come to? Can we not make a distinction of 'relevance' in liking what a person stands for and being willing to simply serve them in a public establishment? This place is getting scarier every day with the exclusion and justifications for it. |

Im actually speechless , wow Im Im Im Im Im..... speechless, are you being sarcastic? I can see you've never been in business, A flag maker?? There in the business of selling flags,Im sure they dont care people do with it once they bought it Same thing with a vegan , how would they know what the customer is buying the cake for? seriously are you pulling our leg here? As for the baker who is a christian, well it goes against their religious beliefs Ive often wondered this, when a Muslim buys a Subway franchise , you know what subway makes right? sandwiches called "subs" why is it okay for them to remove ham, bacon and pork from their menus because of their religious beliefs? |

I've been in business for myself for almost all of my working years. Gays are no problem. Actually they we some of my best customers. The one I have to watch, are evangelicals. They like to stiff contractors, and demand more for less. Middle easterners are the worst. They are extremely tight. Exceptionally picky. Stingy as the day is long. I learned to overprice to them, bigtime.
One, I figured in my final payment before the job was done. Then tacked on another thousand. He claimed he had another job for me and that I should start on it- he'd make the last payment as I worked on his next project. OOPS! I FORGOT to start his last project. I had his phone number memorized, and never answered the phone. |

So when exactly was it when we skewed the lines of discrimination... ![]() |

When were they ever straight?
But then if some people have their way, there would still be "colored" and "white only" drinking fountains. |

When you get pulled over by a black cop for DWW (Driving While White), it will become "all about race" for you as well.
You know, it's that whole "shoe on the other foot" kind of thing. |
|
|

Actually it isn't about the shoe on the other foot thing.
It is about you making racist posts, repeatedly. Talk about irony. |

Right...
You'll never know, until you live it. The innovation of video technology, apparently didn't convince everyone of the inequities in American society. |

Don't presume to know what I know.
Go preach your message in the inner streets of Chicago. Apparently the message wasn't heard there. And videos are not absolutes. Stop banging that drum. |
