I have a challenging day ahead of me tomorrow. The kind where folks just don't know WHAT to say.

A friend brought by a dozen *homemade* chocolate chip cookies. They said, "I didn't know what else to do."

I am SO choked up! It's perfect.
How do you show your support?

Beach my friend in a situation like this for myself...it's easy..

Are you asking me what to do yourself? What would you do?

Be assertive. I'm sure you can handle this just fine. Be sweet with sweets and keep it simple.

By just being there, offering a kind word, a hug, letting them know you're there if they need you for anything.flowerforyou

Wow! homemade chocolate chip cookies.. Yummy! Your friend is definitely a keeper, Beach.

I don't know what kind of situation you got yourself into but whatever it is you are going to survive it, ya hear? Just don't show up wearing your hat backwards carrying that Beach sign over your face. They might lock you up!

I can't cook so I will bring vodka. Cheers drinks

Umm..yes.. sounds like you are grieving .. over the loss of someone..
Not sure do not have the backstory..
But if somebody brought me homemade chocolate chip cookies..
I would thank them and offer them a glass of milk.. and ask if they would like to join.me...
And then I would spend the time talking over whatever needed to be talked over...

I truly hope all is well..with you..

I.usually give them a hug,.and ask if I can help in any way ,or ask them if they wanna talk about the problem (And then I ply them with ancient wine so meither of us have to suffer through the awkwardness of the moment ohwell

How I show support... Varies. Depends on the person, my relationship with them, the situation.
I am pretty good at making people feel better. I think mostly by showing my trust in them, my knowing and unwavering belief that they can do it. Tapping into their own side that knows this. Making that stronger than their doubt and fears.

In other situations a box of tissues may be better and lending a shoulder to cry on, or chocolates, hihi. Just depends. But I generally offer my support from my belief in them and my wisdom. The latter for instance when it concerns my kids.
