My purpose is to make the best of what God gave me. Continue on, continuing on..as they say. Be positive, be happy, and don't set myself up for to much disappointment. I really don't need to go there. Be around, happy upbeat people, and pay it forward where needed. I also love to do, random acts of kindness, and no one is the wiser..I don't need to be recognized for this. It makes me happy..it is who I have become!

I have come to suspect that the whole idea of having a purpose, is actually messed up, if you start searching for it. It's sort of an ironic conundrum.

It seems to be especially tricky, for people who have earnest religious beliefs about it. It always seems contradictory to me, for any finite being, to try to decide what the will of an infinite being is.

But I fully support the essence of working to gain and maintain the sense that one is living their lives honestly and according to their sense of what life ought to be.

Whatever I want it to be.
Even if it's to not have a purpose.

I believe the statement that everyone has a purpose.
People don't do anything without committing to something.
Get out of bed, put on shoes, go to the store.
People don't do anything without an intent to accomplish something, an objective, no matter how trivial.
I don't believe people have a single solitary "higher" purpose unique to them that makes them special, or a purpose given to them by a higher power justifying and validating their existence.


If by "global warming" you're referring to changing amounts of solar energy retained, then yes, I believe in that.
If you're referring to the Al Gore scare-a-thon-fest that seems pervasive, then no, not really.

Purpose? There is no easy answer to that question.

I remember a cab driver who ones told me he wished he was a bird.

-Yes. It should, but it doesn't care. It lives free, flies and dies.

That concluded my short discussion about purpose of life with a cab driver. And seagull flew away.
I don't know what is the purpose of life, but I was happy that cabby wasn't a bird.
