Topic: Cell phone etiquette | |
---|---|
These days it is rare to go out on a date with someone who does not have a cell phone. Hell....those things have become like the American Express card....we don't leave home without it. However, when you do have a date and the two of you meet for the first time (say for dinner), what etiquette do you feel is the "norm" or should be the standard "norm" for these first dates? Bear in mind you are trying to get to know this person and if you keep getting texts from Gidget who wants to catch up on the day's gossip or from Bubba who wants to know "Hey man...did you see the rack on that new girl who works in the billing office?"......well.....I have a feeling the date will not go so well. So, what do you feel is the proper etiquette?

well, there won't be a second date if she can't keep her nose out of her phone for an hour or so...

If she has it on vibrate tucked in her panties...I wouldn't object.

Hummm... actually even with family members if we are out eating phones get put away... There is no reason you can not wait 30 minutes to a hour before answering any text..

No cell phone stuff. Not on any date, not just the first one.
And no fishing either |

And the Apple Watch should be off limits too.

Great topic! I have experienced a few men who are within eyeball shot of their cells at all times while on a date. I've heard the excuses too... on call for work, is forgiven to a point, but to check scores on a game or watch a race going on? Really? What are you 12? Needless to say, they are no longer in my life. Peace

sometimes i even do not take my cell phone with me going out
on a date, it is disrespectful to play with the phone on a date -for any case i keep it with me - but keep it in my bag even at a normal friend meeting that is not a very nice behaviour to deal with the phone all the time i do indeed get extremely irritated with these cell phones at everyone's hand all the time what is this?!! |

if u are so addicted to your cellphone, if that is that much important and the best accompany.. stay home and play with it as much as you want.
all these efforts are just to give a "popular" look look ! i am so popular u see !! my mobile doesnt stop, it keeps ringing, beeping. people text me, people write to me, u see that?! i have known people feeding their ego with other people's foursquare notification alerts, just because it keeps the cell ringing. |

I at least turn mine to vibrate if I don't leave it in the car. Then again I feel the same way whether she pulls out a cell phone or she wants to go to a move, I want to get to know you, not get ignored by you.

I don't answer my phone if I am with anyone for any reason.
