Lung. I have total respect for your research, but there can be to much of a good thing. If you are interested in American women, you need to learn to speak from your feelings, NOT research & books. Old American saying, words don't lie, but LIARS use words. Studies are structured to produce the opinions of the managers. DO NOT believe all you read. How about sharing YOUR personal experiences? Thank you Oldsage, for your note. I believe there can be too much of a good thing everywhere, I love all of you. I am not against any one, need to learn to speak from my feelings and I did in some posts, but the everyday English is difficult for me. I respect your idea about research & books, but I am academic respect and trust the works of American scientific centers. I post summary of some studies for benefits of readers, who said that my posts were informative which my aim was.

sex may not actually be necessary for any other reason than to perpetuate the species and sustain a culture but personally i wouldnt be with someone if i couldnt have sex and satisfy them.

Sex is definitely necessary at 50. 50 is still young and most of us are still energetic and interested in intimacy. Anyone who says they're not is just screwing with you.

I wouldn't say it is necessary..but boy is it fun...lol...best part about being 50 + is you just have fun doing things and sex is so worth having fun with..

hello new to this site but i have been single for many years. My thoughts - Good sex is like a drug the more you have the more you want but when the supply dries up after a while you don't miss it. Its finding a man who knows what good sex is because I cant be fussed if they don't know what they are doing. I do find it hilarious how many guys want to tell you how extraordinary they are when it comes to sex. Maybe its just Aussie men who have a problem there. So I remain celibate by choice until I find someone who wants to connect on other levels before I look to make it to the bedroom, lounge or kitchen table. Just my thoughts on being over 50 and sex. Sex is not necessary but is certainly desirable. I know of several couples that have been married over 25 years; don't have sex but still have a loving relationship.

Sex is always necessary to the person who thinks it is, no matter what the age. Very important you connect with someone who thinks likewise. I like to separate "having sex" from "making love". It seems some folks who want to have sex with anyone to whom they feel a chemical attraction. Others wait until they connect in other ways that induce love. Could be love at first sight, or whatever. Nonetheless, you are never too old to have sex or make love. There are lots of ways to bring the other person pleasure.
