I have no idea why they lie, it is so stupid, i would have rathered my man know everything about me that may come as a shock before we meet, that way he is pleasantly surprised and doesnt need to run.

LOL Men aren't the only ones that tell these kinds of lies. But, the reason is insecurity. They feel the true person isn't good enough. So, they pump it up as much as they can get away with hoping their personality will make up for any short comings (pun intended).

Well as far as i have experienced most of the women i have been friends with lied and i spoke the truth.I do not understand the concept of women asking for the truth when they themselves lie a lot about themselves.Well i can still love a woman if she has a good heart and can take care of me and my family but no they want everything.Few months ago i spoke to a girl and we became friends and then we talked a lot getting to know each other.She was 20 years old with two children never married and she was still in college and she wanted me to be established have a job a house of my own.And she had lied to me about the country she was living in so i have decided to hide my feelings and not trust women unless im fully sure of them that they speak the truth .
SAME GOES FOR MEN TOO stop being what others want be yourself and stop lying and look beyond the looks of a woman and look if she has a good heart a sweet smile a caring nature or not.Most men nowadays just look for sex but fail to look at the other side of women to see their heart kind and caring nature personality etc and most of all her smile . This is the way i think so i know a difference of opinion will be there |

These days, there is a wee thing called artificial insemination. Men have to compete with frozen sperm and can be circumvented entirely. |

When men are constantly frowned upon for things out of their control such as height, baldness, small penis, or what have you, the only other option is deception. They hope they can get out at least one night out of the year, even if it's a predictable failure. I'm not sure why this is a difficult concept. But why should I be uncomfortable because he lied? If you are a short guy..nothing wrong with that..find a woman who prefers or doesn't mind a short guy! I specifically say..I PREFER TALLER GUYS..so he knew right there that I would be disappointed ! He told me over the phone...he doesn't like heavy women! I said ok...Im not heavy..you'll see when we meet! Perfect opportunity to say "oh hey Tee...Im also only 5'3..I hope that wont be a problem"!! |

Someone should start a thread on "white lies"... you know that ones that, IMHO, are just as bad but are done "for the good" of someone... |

Looks like a man's ego these days needs a boost, because I would pull the same thing if I were short, bald, fat, and dickless. Just saying. I think you might be fighting a landslide with a shovel as of current. I'm tall, have hair, thin, and should be in porn, and I'm always thinking up ways to deceive. I'm 51 years old, live in a truck, have lost most of my teeth and it didn't stop me from having sex with a very attractive woman less than half my age last weekend. There is no reason to lie. If there's something wrong like being short or bald or fat you have to find other ways to make up for it. |

I don't lie because I'm proud of myself... anything he feels I don't have that he would like .....Oh well, sucks to be him! I can take a guy saying he is 6'0 when he's 5'11... a girl, saying she was 1st runner up in Miss America pageant in 2003 when she really came in 2nd....who is going to notice that. |

Apparantely, lies get them everywhere.
 :/. Wonder just how many lied, yet still didn't get the girl. How many vein men still never get the girl of their dreams? Plenty. Looks really aren't a guarantee for anything. If some are so insecure that they need an ego boost, then they may aswell just go find a prostitute. Human nature seems to be a very apt excuse.

OP, I agree with you...have been on one of those dates. I'm not saying I'm anywhere near being even close to participating in a pageant, but COME ON.....
I tell the truth, I'm a big woman, BUT...and this is a prideful thing for me right now, I've lost 30 pounds in the past couple of months, and plan to continue losing until I get to the weight I want to be. I dye my hair cause it's mostly white now....thank you life....I wear glasses....am a single mother....and stand at 5'7", used to be 5'8" but lost an inch after I had my son then the hysterectomy. If you can't accept yourself the way YOU are, how the hell are you going to accept me as I am? |

I tell them im 110 years old, weigh 500 lbs, live in a cave and want someone to support me!!! IF they do go out with me and know what I really am, Ive just made myself look like a prince!!!

Don't know. Could be that some of them tried honesty and couldn't even get any replies on dating sites, or couldn't get anyone atractive to talk to them. Then they try pork pies and get responses. Now they are thinking, "Great, I might actually get a date here and I'll own up soon". It's pretty hard to admit to being a liar but they can go on the date and if the person points out their deceptions they can say, "Yeah, sorry about that. Don't really know why I did it but everyone on the internet is a liar and I wasn't getting anywhere telling the truth".
I guess also they can tell themselves after these dates that they might tell a few fibs but at least they aren't superficial... |
