Does this secret crush post in the threads? If so, an easy ice breaker is to send a note about something they wrote in the threads. Always be genuine.

I do it all the time without any sense of agenda...and to my delight I have developed some of the most wonderful friendships with people of both genders.

If they wrote something you agree with or would have said yourself, what is wrong with sending a quick note saying thank you for posting just what I was thinking?

Or if they spark you to think about something in a different way ... send a note saying I hadn't thought of it that way. I appreciate the new perspective.
