Hey all smile2

Just wanted to check in, I've had a busy couple of weeks. But wanted to share a Non=Scale Victory with you,

This may not seem a big deal to some of you, but it is to me.

Before I started my diet, I couldn't fit a seat belt around me because I was too big. I had to buckle it behind me, and just slip the strap over my shoulder, or use an extender.

Now I can wear a seatbelt correctly

Little wins are BIG WINS! They motivate and encourage and this is a fantastic non-scale win! Yay, Penny! So proud and happy for you!

ok girl lemme get 1 thing straight if your gonna lose weight without damaging your heart or organs and you weight 400 lbs you should be eating more than 1500 calories

From what my guess is a 400 lbs lady should have a previous normal diet of 5000 calories or more?

Anyway, all i know is that a 400 lady should be eating more till she gets her weight down. try 2000-3000 thats safer.

Your doctor said you should eat ONLY 1500 calories?!!!!! HE IS MAD!!!

Ok girl here it is... slowly bring your diet down, lower your fats comsumptions, and balance your diet. Try eating the naturals.

If your only eating 1500 calories from a 400 lbs body, your muscles will atrophy quickly, your veins and arteries will become thin, and too fast... your gonna get yourself a cardiovascular problem.

try 3000 calorie diet or eat just progressively less than your used to, with lots of proteins and carbs and reduced fats, take vitamin and mineral supplements
This plan will work, try going out for LONG walks, walks till you are left tired.
4 Hour walks per day or more, one day on one day off, or 2 days on 1 day off try walking fast, you will notice a safe amount of weight loss. 5-10 lbs per week is maximum you should lose.
Dont go overboard shocking your body in such a way as 1500 calories diet is BAD is no good for people with existing cardiovascular problems and excessive weight

1500 calories is how much a 150lbs person eats... u u only eat this much, you increase how brittle you cardiovascular system because and u may shatter your blood vessels and get a stroke!

Trust me, eat and work more, once u shed off 100 lbs, then consider lowering you protein and carb content progressively till u hit 200 lbs, and so on.

One thing to keep in mind, your muscle burns calories, so even if you gain a bit of muscle initially, it will clean your body up of bad things in your cardiovascular system.
Then you will be ready to progressivly lower your intake of calories

but BEWARE DO NOT TAKE 1500 calorie diet UNLESS you are 200 LBS lady.
Youre gonna get cardiovascular failure.

Talk to you doctor about this. I think he is a quack if he tells ya to eat 1500 from a 400 lbs body, any fitness expert will tell ya even 10 calories per lb of body weight for weight loss is a little less than proper

try what i sugested girl... 2000-3000 calories for 1 month...
Do a litttle more walking than normal, try oncreasing the load.
You will see your weight loss rate will probably be consistent with 10lbs per month.

Even if you dont lose weight for 1 month, and your diet is reduced in fats, it will only strengthen your body and cardiovascular system from the shock it is receiving from a absurdtively small diet of 1500 calories.

Beware if you are losing weight more than 15 lbs per month.

@JeanAguiler

I thank you for your concern and interest.I appreciate your opinion. Yes when I started my journey, I weighted over 400 pounds. But my doctor, didn't choose the calorie intake amount , I did, i started the diet a week before I even asked the Dr. about it. She was fine with my choices, and closely monitors, all my levels. As for walking 4 hours a day, I am not able to walk that far due to arthritis in my back and knees. This is why my main type of exercise is swimming. Its low impact, high resistance, and burns a lot of calories. I do also walk. When I started, I couldn't walk 100 feet with out being out of breath. Now I am walking 1/2 mile at least once a week. Each day my mobility gets better, and I feel healthier. I do also take vitamin and mineral supplements. I have battled with my weight my entire life, and look forward to winning the battle. Thank you for your tips, and your concern about my health. It is appreciated.flowerforyou

Hi Penny, hope all is well with your journey to health and wellness. Your decision, however difficult it may be will be worthwhile in the end. Not only will you look better; feel better, but you'll enjoy a better standard of living. I work out a lot (not as much as I used to, but alot none the less lol) I had some tragic incidents occur back to back and suffered a stress induced attack due to hypertension a few years back. I was introduced to this coffee that helps with weight loss, high blood pressure, lupus, cancer, fibromyalgia, etc. Check it out...definitely has helped me out substantially both physically and financially. Email me if you'd like to know more. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION it is the TRUTH. Change your coffee, change your life! Visit www.drjoescafe.organogold.com and google Ganoderma.

In my experience, cutting fat does nothing to help in losing fat/weight. Fat is the best source of energy you can metabolize. (whale fat used to be used in lamps) When you adjust your diet and lifestyle, over time you will want to up your fat intake in accordance with your activity level. Keep your sugar and carb intake low. Carbs (aside from veggies) spike your insulin and tell your body to gain/retain fat.

waving Hi Everyone happy

I just got back from having my cardiac evaluation. The Dr. cleared me for surgery, said, I was low risk,I go see the pulmonary Dr. tomorrow. I'm still waiting on my psyc eval to be approved through my insurance.
I had a sleep study done last week to determine if I have sleep Apnea, a throat specialist wants to remove my tonsils, and possibly uvula. So I may be having that done in Jan, and hopefully the bariatric surgery done in feb. I weight in today at the cardiologist i'm down 2 more pounds.
