I've started adding whey and soy protein shakes to my diet to boost my protein intake and help build lean middle while I exercise. Hoping it'll have a positive effect. :)

It sounds (and looks) gross, but if you are making these with any fruit additions, also throw a couple big handfuls of spinach in the blender. You will only taste the fruit (strawberries and half a banana, preferably frozen are my favorites)plus you'll get a huge daily dose of all the great nutrition hearty greens offer. I swear I feel better all day when I start my day with one of these "green smoothies!"

Thanks everyone (((HUGS))) I'm back to 100% It felt so good to get back in the water. :)
Hope everyone has an AWESOME weekend.

My weekend was okay but think I pulled my shoulder. I was being a good samaritan and helped a man stranded on his wheel chair up a very steep hill in front of my house. Both shoulders hurt but nothing too serious I hope.

that was sweet of you to help him. I hope your shoulder feels better. flowerforyou

I usually just drink the vanilla whey and soy one its not bad at all. I have tried a spinach and berry one that I also liked.

Has anyone tried one of those new machines (blender) that
supposedly pulverizes the fruits and vegetable you put in it?

Saw it on the Dr Oz, Montel Williams was pushing it and
Dr. Oz was reviewing it.

It reduces the fruits and vegetable to the status of water.

The point of it was, with pulverizing all the vitamins and
minerals before passing it though your system, the body
has better access to absorb them.

Supposedly especially pertinent for anyone going through
cancer treatments, etc..instant absorption to the system.

You reminded me of it Glenda because they always added the
spinach leaves to the mixture of fruits in the morning,
and they said you could only taste the fruits.

Nice new pic Penny :-)

Hey Penny!...Glenda is right!! Motivational lags are normal with diet and exercise programs... Here are some quick tips I borrowed from a fitness article that might help you avoid workout burnout...

. Workout at home. You'll be able to save travel time and avoid the "can't get to the gym" excuse.

. Watch for over training signals which include: loss of appetite, lack of progression, extreme fatigue and recurring injury.

. Start slowly and try to manage your motivation so that it lingers rather than waning after a few short weeks.

. Make at least minor changes to your workout routine every four weeks

. Completely change your routine at least every 8-12 weeks

. Don't do the same exact workout every session. Try 2-3 different workouts per week.

. Strive to try something completely unique and different every few months.

. Take a week off from exercise every 3-6 months.

. Alternate between 2-3 different cardio machines (or options) within a given workout. Try 5-10 minutes of each to stay interested.

I agree, your new pic is very nice...Love the curls and your skin looks amazing!...Face looks slimmer too!!

I'm a very visual person. So yesterday when I was at the store I picked up one ofvthose big 20 pound bags of sugar to help myself visualize how much weight I've really lost. :) it made me feel good, and helped me to put a visual perspective on my loss. I go back to the Dr. on Thursday for weigh in. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I know this may sound kinda strange BUT . . .I looked at myself in the mirror this morning and the fat on my stomach is getting demples. . .the shape of my stomach is different than before. Its a good thing to see that what I'm doing is making a difference. . . Two more months of the Dr supervised diet and we can submitt a request for bariatric surgery to the insurance company. :)
