Seriously everyone, just keep a clear and open mind that everyone is different. So who cares what others think of you. It took me a long time to come to that realization, but it's true. Other people are not me, they're not living my life, and it would be stupid to let them have any influence on anything I do. If they don't like the way I look, the way I dress, whatever, that's fine. I never signed a contract saying I had to adhere to someone else's arbitrary policies. Everyone has different perspectives on other people, but that's what makes life interesting. I mean if everyone looked the same or like the same exact thing then the world would just be a total bore. It seems to me as if most of the people here are insecure but there's no need to be because its a big world filled with many people and at least one person out there will love and accept you for who you are. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway.... |

I am going to go out on a limb here and answer the topic heading.
I care about how I look, because I am the one that has to look in the mirror every morning. It makes me happy to look as nice as I can. The plus side to looking as nice as I can, little children do not run screaming down the street away from me. |

lol except for jesus that ive ever been told, or heard, or read, who was suppose to have been perfect .  Lets not make this into a religious arguement.   You believe whatever you want, and ill do the same.  No disrespect intended.

Yes OP, I really agree with you about this. Seems like you have a good heart. That's what will make you more attractive. Looks are just the outside. No point in dating someone who's good looking, but a wife beater. I admire your respect for humanity. Welcome

Well i did say it SEEMS. That's doesn't necessarily mean that I'm judging them. I'm just giving my opinion. Well anyway. I didn't post this to make an argument. I posted this as my opinion and advice for those who do feel insecure.

I care about how I look. Its hard on my self esteem when someone insults how I look. I realize I shouldn't take it personally but its something that I am sensitive about.

I do understand what she is trying to say... for we all should not worry what others think of us...as long as we are happy with ourselves then that is all that matters... To many try to twist the words around instead of trying to see the true meaning behind someone's words.... decipher before you jump...

the human race always has cared about how they look and always will and to be honest i dont see the problem as long as its not used as a tactic to belittle somebody. Inherantly there is nothing wrong about being concerned about the way you look, otherwise we'd all look like we walked off jeremy kyle Agreed. That is just the problem though that people do use this tactic to belittle others. Makes me wonder what goes through their minds when they are being this hurtful. |

Seriously. I always keep an open mind. I am not particularly worried about what anyone thinks of me, and in a realistic world they would not be too worried about what I think of them. Of course we don't always seem to live in a realistic world do we?
I agree that a lot of people are insecure on the site, but so are millions all over. And until they are comfortable with themselves, they are always going to have a hard time finding others to be comfortable around. A lot of it is just human nature though. |

I think if we were being truley honest with ourselves, there are times we all have insecurities. It is part of human nature. I try not to care about what other's think of me. I live a good life, try to be the best person I can be. But if I had a bad hair day? I cringe and go "oh well f***" I think that there are parts of us we try to improve on that is built on our own insecurities. For example...I use to be 330lbs, size 42. Now I am 170 and between a 10 and 12. It was my insecurities about my weight and caring about my looks, wanting to be able to attract others that caused me to work out to lose that weight.
This is my opinion and just being honest. I have a hard time believing that everyone here doesn't have any insecurities. Also you can have confidence in yourself and still have insecurities. I think it is just important that you don't let those insecurities control your decisions but work on getting rid of them. Bettering yourself. Hope that makes sense. I also agree that everyone is beautiful. |
