Have you ever been stood up?

Have you ever stood anyone up? If so, what was your reasoning?

Yeah...I have been stood up. That crap only happens once. If a chick wants to miss out on a good doinking.....she can kick her own @$$ to the curb.

What do you mean only on these dating sites? Do you mean only with people you've tried to meet from these sites?

Yes, once - but it was accidental (apparently) - he was from another nearby town and got lost trying to find the YMCA

It's the largest building in that section of the city so IDK if he was playing games or just really a bad driver - either way - no - I accepted the apology but would not accept another date

no I haven't stood anyone up - I went to meet someone once and I did not wait long enough - I guess he was mad as he hasn't spoken to me since

If she made the date with you, she should have shown up. That's not an excuse.

Never been stood up.
Never stood anyone up.
I guess I cannot imagine not making a simple
phone call and telling someone, rather than
letting them go merrily along.
Seems..cruel.

I've never stood someone up. If for some strange reason, something prevented me from getting to where we planned to meet, or even if I was going to be late, I'd call or text. It's simple enough to do and is the decent thing to do. I never understood why someone would not do that. A text only takes a few seconds.

I have been stood up. Once on NYE. The guy tried apologizing a few months later. Another one was a date the guy set up after a first date that went well. He never bothered to show. And then last night.. we were meeting for a drink. He had sent me a text saying it was crowded. I responded telling him where I was and asked where he was. No response. Apparently he didn't like what he saw, I guess.

Does it count as standing someone up if that person was late and you got tired of waiting?

No, not the same thing. If that were me, I would have sent them a text or called them and said I was tired of waiting and was going to leave, so that it didn't look like I was standing them up. Then again, I would have expected the other person to let me know they were running late and when they'd be there.

Hmm I can remember being stood up only once. I didn't understand it either. I at least call someone before I met or don't meet them to let them know what's up. It does suck but its just one guy. And looking back on it, judging from the conversations, the guy wasn't really smart. He barely joked around OR formed a full thought.

Shcitt happens.

I've never been stood up and have only stood up one woman on a promise I'd call and set up a first date. She sent me an email hoping she didn't do anything wrong. I felt so horrible that I married her.

We were going to make plans to go out but I got cold feet. Instead of calling her to talk about it I just didn't call. I felt so bad after her email that I made her I promise I'd never do that again. We went out the next weekend and were married a year later.

Divorced now but we remained very good friends.

Yes, I would have done that if I could have - we had met several days earlier in the coffee shop where we were supposed to meet and just had agreed to meet there again. It was several years ago and I did not have a cell, plus we had not exchanged numbers or last names

so it was a case where we really had no way to contact each other

and also thinking back on it - we did speak once after that - that's how we figured out that we hadn't communicated on what time well enough. oh well - we had a nice friendship while it lasted
