I have read about it quite a bit and I can understand the evidence.
The evidence is overwhelming that Al-Qaida is responsible and there
is absolutely nothing to corroborate any US or third party conspiracy.

If it was that overwhelming, everyone would agree, but the fact is many don't, and for good reason. There many many holes in the official story, whether you believe it or not.

I just had a thought...With all the turmoil going on in the WORLD right now and all the questions and concerns facing the US right now and the upcoming election, why the h*ll are people still rehashing, debating, and arguing 9/11 conspiracy theories? It seems such a waste of time and energy...frown

That is a contridiction of terms... I'm willing to brush it under the carpet, but I won't forget it?

That sounds a little disrespectful to the victims families who still are unsatisfied with the answers. They don't want us to forget, but it is ok to do so because you are fed up with their desires?

I don't want to sound harsh here, but that seems a little selfish on your part. I have several (I can't say "a lot") of friends who lost people that day, and they want answers they haven't gotten!

This is an unsolved murder (to their satisfaction) in their eyes, and to say they don't have a right to have questions is just wrong!

Maybe it seems that way to you because I don't believe any of the conspiracy theories...I am quite satisfied with the "official" answers...My alliance is to my country, my respect is to those who died and to the families they left behind....You believe it is unsolved and I do not ...I will leave you to discuss it with your peers..

Again, you have the right to believe as you will, but they are ACTUALLY EFFECTED BY THE EVENTS OF THAT DAY, and they wish it to not be forgotten until they have answers.... I think I respect their request more than my own or any other opinion.

So, again we agree to disagree flowerforyou

Might I remind people of the OP's intention?

The purpose was to give each person a chance to voice his or her view without criticism or ridicule.

An open forum to see how others view this one event.

No debating. No links. No disputes over facts or evidence. No statements or opinions on another person's point of view.

Just your opinion as it applies to 9/11.

Nothing more.

Call it a social experiment of sorts.
That's what was intended ...

peronally i don't even think about 911 anymore. it's number 1 on my speed dial.

seriously folks, all this talk about conspiracies, the rediculous "security" measurse we've enacted since 9/11 and the continuing idiotic rhetoric political and otherwise we keep babbling keeps giving bin laden win after win even in his watery grave. the best way to fight this jihadist crap is to get on with our lives.

al queda's single purpose was to disrupt our american way of living and we've been the best guy on their team in accomplishing their goal. recall shoe bomber richard reid. he completely failed to blow up himself and an airliner full of people but he accomplished bin laden's primary purpose. i can see the bastard sitting with his buddies in a cave somewhere pointing at his tv, laughing his *** off and saying, "hahahaha. lookit that. now the infidels will be taking their shoes off just to get on an airplane. hahahahahahahaaaaaaa."

It was an attack that was permitted go succeed amongst the thousands which have been successfully thwarted. We were looking for a way to gain support for an Iraq invasion since before Clinton and this was it.

It was a waste of life on all sides and part of its provocation was our own policies and actions in compliance with israel vs muslim countries.

It was an attack on our ego, that backfired when we allowed it to happen and thus gained support to infiltrate the middle east,,,,,

1993 First attack on WTC .. was it thwarted?

1995 Oklahoma City Bombing.. was it thwarted?

1996 Khobar Towers .. was it thwarted?

1998 US Embassies Kenya Tanzania.. were they thwarted?

2000 USS Cole ... was it thwarted?

Looks like your boy clinton did a real good job thwarting all the terrorist attacks during his administration..

Unbelievable..

Im speaking more specifically of terrorist attacks on AMERICAN soil, we are much more diligent in protecting american citizens in america

OKC was a crazy american, who we have much less freedom and support for investigating and whose rights make it harder to thwart ,,,,,,

There are more than likely a LIST or such 'attacks' around the world under any president , and Im not quite sure which ones earn the 'terrorist' label or not

but we do pretty well keeping AMERICAN soil safe,,,,

"It was an attack that was permitted go succeed amongst the thousands which have been successfully thwarted. We were looking for a way to gain support for an Iraq invasion since before Clinton and this was it."

There is far more evidence that the attack that was permitted to succeed was Oklahoma City..

But that is off topic..

There is no point in discussing 9/11 any more on this site. We have hashed it and rehashed again and again. The one real evident truth is that neither side is ever going to convince the other of "their truth".

So, please....give it up already!

Those of you who believe in a conspiracy or who just want better answers, continue on with your search. Find your answers.

Meanwhile, for the rest of us life goes on. Some of us lost people on 9/11 too, and we are satisfied with what we already know. We are moving forward rather than looking back. Nothing is going to bring those we lost back from the dead, so we made our peace years ago.

What others do is their decision. They can carry on their search. But it is completely unnecessary for them to waste their energy trying to convince the rest of us. So long as they continue their search for truth - without dragging the rest of us into it - they will eventually find the answers they need....on their own. No one can make them accept the answers they find. That is up to them. The only guarantee is that they will find them, for good or for ill. And that's all the more reason to leave the rest of us out of it. It is a journey they have to complete for themselves without our interference, otherwise they may never find the closure they seek.

aw shucks, leigh. kind words.

i recently read of a study that concluded that more people have been killed because of our 'reactions' to 9/11 than were actually killed during the attack. the study saw that the increased number of people who chose to drive long distance who would normally have flown, but for the hassel of "homeland security", has resulted in an increase in trafic fatalities during the last decade that exceed those lost in the tragedy itself.

think about it folks. we keep handing these terrorists win after win everytime we enact another law that changes the way we choose to live our lives. government cannot enhance you're safety more than a tiny amount and it damn sure cannot provide you the life you had before this jihad came to america. only you can live the life you choose to live. now let's flip the bastards the finger one last time and get back to living it.

I am aware of that study and others (the domino effect of 9/11)...Conspiracy theorist feed this fire, it is pathetic...When peeps question why the WTC??, they should think about the effect it had on, not only our economy, the world economy...I have a friend who, when Wall Street reopened, was down $67,000...do the math people....it was a successful terrorist attack and conspiracy theorists do everything in their power to make to make the success continue....

not so in the least. i'll refer you to the holocaust as an example. overwhelming evidence that it occured and not everyone agrees that it happened. so give me a 'good reason' some deny the holocaust happening. can you produce evidence that would underwhelm the evidence that supports the holocaust actually happening or that 9/11 was the work of jihadist extremists? let's see it. dispute the actual evidence. a conspiracy theory is simply an alternative theory and not evidence in itself that another explanation, official or otherwise, is in error much less false. when you make a claim of conspiricy you inherit the burden to proove your claim.

The debate on 911 was over ages ago as far as I am concerned.

I never feared terrorists, continued to fly whenever I wished,
didn't have to even change my single bag travel packing much.

The impact the terrorists attacks made on me relates to a close
friend who was killed and a better awareness of the threat of
radical Islamists.
