As a rule I have found this doesn't normally happen but I am still good friends with one of my ex's, nothing more to it than that, other than we are there to talk to and help each other out! Sometimes you realiae you are better as friends than you ever was in a relationship

Yes. I've known my ex for 22 years and he's my best friend. My family and I love him to death (platonically).

We've been through a lot together since our initial breakup. We've got back together a couple of times and I almost married him. Up until he got engaged, we still took holidays together with our son and my other son from another relationship. Again, up until recently, we'd still go out to dinner, cinema, speed dating

He was there for me when my 10yr relationship ended and moved in when he had nowhere to go...I can't imagine him not being part of my life.

I am friends with all my ex-boyfriends but I wouldn't call them my best friends.

Can you still be best friends after a relationship?

I think it's possible if the relationship ended mutually and on good terms. If there's still animosity or strong feelings with either party, I think it's best to leave things be and not look back

The operative word here would be 'best' for me, too. Last time we had a moratorium of 15 minutes before the insults happened. Hers were open as she was an extrovert and mine were mental as I was an introvert. To me actions speak louder than words but to her, in my opinion, nothing speaks louder than her. The proof happened one time we were in a restaurant and people were getting up and leaving. The manager came to me privately and said if I didn't do something about my wife that we would have to leave because he was losing too many customers.

Hard for a guy to be friends with an ex cause most women get jealous, possessive, etc. Just speaking from experience here.
