Okay this topic may make parents heads roll, however I can not resist. Are there people who regret becoming parents? I was on a blog on the subject and parents admit although taboo, that in fact they regret having kids. I all around me I see people (women) having children for the wrong reasons. I have a pregnant niece and her situation is too dire to bring another life. Since she is no longer with the father, I wonder if she herself will live to regret getting pregnant early in a relationship? What are others thoughts...

I have never regretted having my children..There was the odd day where I could have quite easily put them back where they came from, but..lol...

When my daughter was in high school, some of her friends got pregnant to keep the boyfriend...Never worked for any of them, and they ended up single young mothers at the age of 16 - 18..

My sons have been my greatest challenge and greatest gift....
they have taught me more about unconditional love
and forgiveness than I could have ever taught them.

No regrets!! Only gratitude!!

Absolutely not. My babies are my heart and breath, and two of them have given me precious grandbabies that are just as amazing.

Nope never...

They changed my life completely, but only in good ways,
They have never restricted what i do , and have only filled my life with joy, they have taught me patience and tolerence.

I guess even if there where changes it would always be when or who you had children with, but not actually having them.

My 6 little horrors make my life what it is, just a bundled of frustrated fun.

I think the question posed 'do you regret becoming a parent', implies a negative emotion towards the children themself which is, of course, taboo.

regret is almost always associated with something that was negative

I can say I WISH I had waited until I was more self sufficient to get married. And I wish that I had been more certain of my partners emotional and financial stability before embarking on parenthood.


My children would have much fewer 'obstacles' if I had made better choices concerning the timing of my 'parenthood'.

I dont regret my kids, I regret not having made sure I had a more stable foundation for them before bringing them into the world.

What's worse is when they regret getting pregnant and take it out on the kids, by neglecting and/or abusing them. Even worse, you would think CPS is there to help, they're not.

NO never. what would I do now at my age without my kids and grandkids ??

I don't regret having children. I have regretted that I wasn't a better father before.

I had huge regrets of becoming a parent so young. I was only 9 years old at the time. My mother told me I shouldn't have gotten myself into such a situation if I wasn't ready for the responsiblities. After a couple weeks, I flushed my sea monkeys.

I still regret it to this day...
