A brainwashed person ALWAYS denies that he has been brainwashed. He(or she) always believes they made their own choices. And they did actually. But they were convinced to because they were given (fed) false ideas and information. How could I possibly be brainwashed? I willingly chose to follow Jesus' teachings best to my ability, yeah yeah I know, I just think I did it willingly cause I was brainwashed. But how could I possibly have been brainwashed? Heck my parents could be total atheists, I could have no mingling with outside people of religious beliefs. Heck, I could live out in the middle of no where on a mountain with absolutely no contact with other people except for special occasions as groceries being brought to me. Tell me, how could I have possibly been brainwashed into believing in our lord Jesus Christ? Are you telling me that your parents are atheists? If you are not telling me that, then why would you imply or suggest that? I don't think your parents are atheists. In fact, I think they are very religious and they have had a very strong influence on you. Not only that, they are probably involved with a very radical and independent religious group. You were brainwashed because you have been hearing the same things over and over and over and over again since you were a child. You are barely an adult right now at the age of 23. I don't even consider a man to have his own mind until at least the age of 30 or 35. I am 39 years older than you. You are a child to me. Well you're bout to blown out of the water lol. My parents aren't atheist, that is true. But they are not "religious". They believe in God, yes. But they are not religious, they don't go to church, they don't talk about God except casual conversation, ect. So, no you were way off on your analysis. Shouldn't be so quick to judge. What I know of God, and my scripture knowledge has come from personal seeking of it. Personal study, asking people questions, searching through the internet, ect. My relationship with God is totally a personal choice lol. Just a little more information of the family I come from to make sure you don't still think I may have been brain washed by someone else. Now this isn't ment as to demean them or make them less of a person or anything. Just some facts. Two of my brothers just got out of prison from the age of 17ish/18. They were tried as adults for their crime. Again, my relation with God our father is ENTIRELY a personal choice, a use of my free will. Not influenced by external being other then Jesus himself. So you may go your own way with your biased thinking, your assumptions on others, your judgments you've made unjustifiably without knowing all the knowledge thereof. That is very good news Cowboy. Then you appear to be a person who thinks for himself and seeks answers. If you keep that up, you will grow into a very good and intelligent man. It is certainly a better path than prison for sure. Keep seeking, you will find your true path. |

It is literally impossible in every way to be brainwashed into a religous belief. Yes, one can be "persuaded", but that is still nevertheless a choice on their own. It is a personal belief, no one can change another's personal beliefs in anyway but the person in mention. It is a choice. |

Everything is a choice. Everything.
But there are influences all around us. We chose what resonates with us. If it resonates with you that is where you belong. |

Everything is a choice. Everything. But there are influences all around us. We chose what resonates with us. If it resonates with you that is where you belong. Almost everything is a choice. You choose not when you pass away on Earth. Yes, you can choose to take your life, but I'm speaking of other then that. You choose not to remain healthy, ect ect. Life has very limited choices in the long run. You control almost nothing in your life in the long run. - You choose to go to work, yes. But you do not choose to keep that job, that lays in the hands of your employer. - If you are self employed, you again choose to do that job yes. But if no one wishes to pay for your services, it will no work out, thus you're "fired". This list could go on for a looooong time. You don't truly "choose" a lot in your life. |

Here is a little known secret Cowboy. I know you don't agree but.. Everything is a choice. Even when you die. That decision is just hidden from your conscious mind. I do chose to remain healthy every day. People who smoke and eat junk food and don't take care of their health choose disease. People who obsess over illness and disease and think about it all the time... choose disease. All of your successes and failures, your job choices, getting fired, etc. are all a result of decisions you made and thoughts and attitudes you hold. |

People who do not consciously choose good health, can end up with disease by default.

So you're saying you NEVER get sick? Man, don't tell everyone how to do this, you'll bankrupt the organizations that sell medicine. Tylenol, Advil, dayquil/nightquil, ect ect. People who smoke and eat junk food and don't take care of their health choose disease. People who obsess over illness and disease and think about it all the time... choose disease. But they are not making the choice of when and how exactly they will die. Yes, in the long run they are "harming" themselves. But they aren't choosing WHEN they die. All of your successes and failures, your job choices, getting fired, etc. are all a result of decisions you made and thoughts and attitudes you hold. Yes, in the long run. But in all reality you do not choose to get fired, fail, or succeed. You may have chosen the choices that led up to that, but you did not exactly choose the outcome. |

Yes I am a Christian in the exact root of the word. I wish to be Christ like, I wish to be like Jesus. As Jesus was right in the way he behaved I wish to as well. Jesus is the model of my life. I know I would never ever reach the level of his greatness. But why not try? Why not try to treat the world with unconditional love? Since that is what he has told us to do anyways, why not? I'm not a Christian cause I chose to take that title in that exact sense. I'm a Christian because I choose to try to do my best for our lord Jesus Christ. I follow what Jesus says before I follow what man has to say. Cowboy...thanks for explaining your religion ..when earlier you tried to claim that you didn't follow a religion the Ten Commandments and the teaching of Jesus are that which forms The Christian Religion But I do not follow exactly the "religion". I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I belong to Jesus, not "Christianity". Cowboy...name those teachings of Jesus that you actually follow everyday I follow all of them. Yes I stumble from time to time and make mistakes occasionally, I'm not perfect. But all in all I try my best to follow every one of them. no..I asked you to name the ones that you personally follow everyday ... None of your business. It is irrelevant and again none of your business. What is the purpose of asking? Cowboy...temper temper ..... I just wanted to pop you into reality that you don't follow all the teachings of Jesus Temper? Nothing was yelled, there was no caps, there was no exclamation marks. And how do you know I don't follow all the teachings of Jesus? You do not personally know me. You know of me, but you do not know me lol. But thanks for showing everyone you make assumptive conclusions on judging someone's person. Cause from what I said, it neither concludes I do or don't follow all of Jesus' teachings. And again, it is none of your business, that is between Jesus and I. it became my business when you posted to me that you follow all the teachings of Jesus which of course can only be a lie ....I simply called you on it and you had a conniption fit if you are not willing or can't back up the things that you post in the forum ...then simply don't post them ...or don't post them to me |

Thoughts and attitude is an action. Those are things you literally do. Not a movement action, but nevertheless a choice MADE by you. So still, the only things you can actually choose in life is your own actions. Attitude is joined in with the thoughts. If someone has a "gangster" train of thoughts, their actions, behavior, and attitude will also be thereof the "gangster" mentality. But nevertheless, this is still an action. How you behave/act is an action chosen by you. So again, outside of your own actions, you don't truly choose what happens in your life in the long run. |

In the mental and spiritual sense I suppose you can call thoughts and attitude "an action" but it is not really considered an action in the physical world. I prefer to think of action as what you do following intention. I can think about getting up and getting a glass of iced tea but it ain't gonna happen unless I actually do it. That is taking action. |

This is a forum, this is for the viewing and discussion of all. Things said in this forum are on a general note less someone's name is in reference. And secondly, there isn't enough space on here and why should I waste my time with it? I need not to justify anything through you. Jesus and I know what I do through the days, and that is all that matters. I care not if you believe or don't believe me lol, that's your prerogative. And how can it be a lie anyways? Yes all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Never said I was perfect, I confessed I stumble from time to time. But all in all I try my very best to do as Jesus has instructed us to. And still don't know where you got off asking me, it is quite personal and not relative to the discussion in here. |

Our thoughts, wants, desires, shows where our hearts are. And that's what we will be judged on. Where we gave our hearts. If we gave our hearts to Satan or to God our father. Matthew 5:28 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. |
|
|
|
In a vague sense, I agree with that because we are what we think we are and we create and attract what we think about.
But there is a line to be drawn in society between committing murder and just thinking about it or wanting to. The same goes for committing adultery. Lots of people 'think' about it. But the person who actually thinks about it and the person who follows through and makes the decision to do it are not equally sinful. One of them resisted temptation. He is to be commended. In society intent to murder does hold a lot of weight compared to murdering someone unintentionally. People are judged fairly on that regard if they are to be believed. I would expect God to be just as fair and just. |
