Well, then if you really don't know for certain what you want ...
then you already know what bs you will not abide with.

Just start enjoying your own life. Sooner or later, you'll meet someone.

I think men want to pay for their dates, and if they don't it's no big deal, they probably can not afford a woman though, cuz we like gifts and if you cant afford dinner....

I dont mind paying my own way...I treat my friends sometimes and they treat back....but if he's trying to make an impression then. . break out the wallet.

If the women insists, then I would go "dutch" (50/50).

Regarding sex on first date, I think a better question would be "do you want to date someone who would expect that?". My opinion is that a gentleman wouldn't, so personally that wouldn't be my intention on a first date ... although have left it to discretion whether I let it happen ;)

If we are really into each other then nobody pays any attention to
money. If anyone is even remotely thinking about money then the date
is already a bust.

Well Ive never had a female ask me out most people say I look mean on first glance but you cant judge a book by the cover

Well, that's just sad...and not the first time I've heard it...
Out of curiosity, would you be okay with a woman asking you and would you expect her to pay or would you still want to pony up?

In this day women work and have their own money and my question is for men.

Do men expect a woman to have sex with them at the end of a date if he pays for everything?

And if so, should women then insist on paying for her own meal and movie (or whatever) and would this end the idea in the man's head that she owes him a blow job or a roll in the hay at the end of the evening?

If not, would you, as a man, be insulted or pleased that a woman insists on paying her own way?

I have been considering starting dating again, and I would like some opinions.

Also, if I got asked on a date, should I get these questions out of the way first by asking the man strait out?

I actually insist on paying my way on a first date as that way the guy can't guilt you into anything. Sad to have to do that but that is the way of the world.

Really? You insist? Even if you were asked as a guest? What if he takes you to a very expensive place and you really can't afford it?

He might take it that you are not interested in him. What if you are interested and then he never calls you back because he thinks you aren't?

Well first of all I wouldn't go to an expensive date; its just coffee. I wouldn't even go out for a drink (alcohol) with a guy on a first date. Yes, I would insist on paying.

If he takes it that I am not interested because I insisted on paying then he is childish. If he doesn't call again; oh well life goes on. If he can't respect me enough to honour my wishes of paying for myself; then he just doesn't respect me. Now if we got to know each other better; then I wouldn't mind if he paid as long as he lets me pay once in a while.

If I am paying for a sitter, it would be nice for a man to pay for my dinner....frankly I am getting tired of going out to eat on dates though. Men want skinny girls....and yet they continue to feed us...let's go kayaking it so much more fun...and it's only $10....

This is so true. I was in the best shape of my life and I met a guy who actually told me I was too thin and he constantly fed me. Then when I gained too much, he complained. frustrated frustrated

I guess I'm an old school guy. I go out on a first date with someone I immediately gonna assume I'm paying unless they offer, and even then I'm more likely to decline their offer because of my old schoolness, lol.

I don't expect anything in return, but I wouldn't turn down a hug or kiss goodnight if the evening went well. Sex is never on my mind on a first date or right off in a relationship, I don't expect it or else I'm gonna bail, that's not me. Now I will admitt a couple times things got heated up and it went all the way, but it was a mutual thing.
