okay.
well then how does one go about fixing things.

Stop spending.
Lower Fed pay
Fair Tax
Stop voluntary deportations, too costly.
If an Illegal overstays their VISA, by 6 months or longer, deport.
Fine companies who hire Illegals
Reward "married" couples for not having kids. End Earned Income Credit altogether. I suggested that to DC and it looks like they are working on it. It's half of what it was last year.
Tax breaks for small businesses.
No, having to file for transactions over $600.00.
Make taking bribes and kickbacks from special interests felonies.
On and on and on.

You think poverty rates have gone down since Obama took office? surprised

how do you expect him to fix this nation.

I have lots of solutions.

Deport all the illegals in jail and prisons to the countries they came from.
Put caps on Government employees. Most government jobs would be capped at $90,000 a year.
You drive a Government car you pay for your own fuel.Hotels would be capped at $80.00 a night. No services like massages and spas under the tax payer dime.
Sell Nasa to private companies.
Put a hold on buying new military hardware such as ships and airplanes for two years.
Have a flat tax rate for everyone.
No bottled water for Government employees.Bring your own.
Stop funding for abortions overseas.
Stop wasteful spending on stupid projects like studying prostitutes overseas.
Add more people to combat Medicare fraud.

How is that for beginners?

Well, South Carolina got our new Governess. I don't think I'm too thrilled. I'll just see how well she'll do to represent this state.

I think she will be awesome!

I thought about that too. I should be happy we have a female governor after so many years. But if she makes this state look bad like all the other governors, I'm moving! And I'm not kidding.

She will be a lot better then Sanford and at least doesn't come with all the baggage he has\had.

Even if Sanford was running, I wouldn't vote for him. Ha! Just a new face would be refreshing. I'll give Nikki a full year (if I'm still here). If things are looking up, then I will quit my ranting. I think she's a smart woman, but South Carolina holds a lot of secrets. I hope she's not one of them.

I actually really liked Sanford and hoped he would run for President until he really screwed up with that whole mistress, leaving the state and not being able to be contacted and traveling on state expenses.

fact;
every time there has been a republican president,
poverty rates have gone up.
and they go down when there's a democratic president.
would you rather have a society where there's less or more poverty.

i agree with everything except NASA... i feel we should beef it up more, and let them do what they need to do... one of the few "honest" organizations left in the government.

If your talking about Obama care then I would have to say it did get shoved down our throats. This one one of the most important bills in Americas history that will effect everyone. It is also the only bill in Americas history that will force everyone to pay into private companies. We should have had a vote on this issue.

There is no doubt in my mind this nation is going to get better because of a different party.Any economist and businessman would rather have Republicans running the show than Democrats.I know most business's desperately want Obama care off of their backs in this crappy economy. Can't say anyone is looking forward to billions in new taxes under cap and trade and that fraud called Global warming. Both are supported and thought up by Democrats.

Wow, the US Senate race is 47-44 with 7 races still open.

Nevada might take a while. The polls were supposed to close at 7 but the lines are so long in Elko that they are still open right now and unfortunately in Nevada they can't post ANY results until all poll's are closed.

It is a good sign though because the rurals in Nevada like Elko are all overwhelmingly Republican.

Also they are saying via exit polls that Angle and Reid are neck and neck within 1% of each other, unfortunately I didn't catch who was leading in the exit polls.

Hopefully the polls will be closed soon and we will know what's going on here.

There are quite a few races I am personally involved with here in Nevada and I am really nervous.

This has nothing to do with health care but, it's part of the oBummercare law.

Health care law's massive, hidden tax change
By Neil deMause, contributing writerMay 5, 2010: 11:00 PM ET

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- An all-but-overlooked provision of the health reform law is threatening to swamp U.S. businesses with a flood of new tax paperwork.

Section 9006 of the health care bill -- just a few lines buried in the 2,409-page document -- mandates that beginning in 2012 all companies will have to issue 1099 tax forms not just to contract workers but to any individual or corporation from which they buy more than $600 in goods or services in a tax year.

The stealth change radically alters the nature of 1099s and means businesses will have to issue millions of new tax documents each year.

You ever wonder why all those companies went overseas under Clinton?Because half of what they were making were going to Federal and State taxes.Could you imagine making a billion and 500 million is already gone before expenses and payroll?

The more you tax the more you hurt the economy. The more you cut taxes the better the economy does. You want to see the unemployment drop to 4% and see a record stock market jump.Tell all those companies instead of paying 34% under Obama you will be paying 8% under someone else.I can promise you this country would roar back to life creating more jobs then ever before.

How about a Cow fart tax?And no I am not making this up.

http://westinstenv.org/news/2008/11/20/epa-proposes-cow-fart-tax/

The Environmental Protection Agency issued an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking public comment on whether it is appropriate to regulate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from automobiles under the Clean Air Act. In order to regulate automobile emissions, the EPA would first have to make a finding that all greenhouse gases endanger public health and safety and should be classified as a “pollutant.”

Essentially, the EPA is ruling on whether or not GHG emissions should be classified as endangering public safety. If that finding is made, all GHGs including carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide would have to be regulated under the Clean Air Act. …

The vast majority of livestock operations would easily meet the 100 ton threshold and fall under regulation. In fact, USDA has stated that any operation with more than 25 dairy cows, or 50 beef cattle would have to obtain permits. According to USDA statistics, this would cover about 99 percent of dairy production and over 90 percent of beef production in the United States.

As the proposal stands today, the permit fees would equate to a “tax” of $175 per dairy cow and $87.50 per beef cow.

Greenhouse gas regulation under the Clean Air Act would not only adversely impact livestock producers but all farmers. Crop production emits nitrous oxide from fertilizer and methane from rice production, and fields that emit 100 tons of carbon would also be subject to permitting requirements as well. Any Florida farm with 500 acres of corn, 250 acres of soybeans, 350 acres of potatoes or only 35 acres of rice would be forced to obtain Clean Air Act permits.

Emissions from farm machinery and energy used in production might also be added. Regulation of other economic sectors will result in increased fuel, fertilizer and energy costs for all farmers and ranchers.
