If he is Christian as he claims then why did he skip the national day of prayer?

But yet he will have a White house dinner for Ramadan.

Islam is not just a religion, it is also a political doctrine so freedom of religion should be thrown out the window!

Right-on.

Hussein is more Muslim than the Muslim terrorists that killed Americans on the 9-11.

You can tell it's a cult because their leader (prophet) screwed children.

No righteous person or group would condone that.

Again it is a matter of if the choice has good taste or not and Obama is just sucking up for votes.

I strongly doubt that. He seems to be committing a political suicide.

Might as well add this one too...

http://www.thefoxnation.com/culture/2010/03/31/obama-i-wont-join-curch-while-president

On Monday, March 29, 2010, President Obama was interviewed by NBC News and portions were broadcast on the Today show on March 30. According to the The Caucus blog at the New York Times:

Mr. Obama said he would not select a church while living in the White House. "What we have decided for now is not to join a single church, and the reason is because Michelle and I have realized we are very disruptive to services," he said.

Instead, he said he would from time to time visit St. John's Church, across Lafayette Square from the White House, where many presidents have worshiped. He also said the family prefers to worship in the privacy of the presidential retreat when it spends the weekend there. "We love the chapel at Camp David," he said.

No doubt. There is no question he will be another Jimmy Carter in 2012, but the real question is how bad is he gonna get creamed in the ballot boxes.

Actually Obama does a lot, it just takes a chunk out of our rights and hurts our nation every time he does something.

Not to mention his expensive shopping sprees(Stimulus bills)

The latest report I heard on the radio, Obama is saying that the
ground zero (islamic center)mosque organizers have the freedom to
build it BUT HE IS NOT COMMENTING on whether he thinks they SHOULD
build it.

Sounds like a straddle if you ask me - and if the implication is
that HE does NOT think they should build it there then his position is
the same as the ADL's whom Zakaria recently dissed for saying that
it is their opinion that the center and its mosque be built further
away from the site.

Was this his original position or is it sliding in response to polling
which shows an overwhelming number of americans find the location of
the new islamic center adjacent to the WTC site insulting and disgraceful?

laugh

I think its a diplomatic approach at a compromise. Much like his disapproval on a personal level with gay marriage but his support on a legal level for the RIGHT for gays to have civil unions.

He may disapprove on a personal level or he may not, but he is focusing on the issue of rights instead of being put in the middle of a commentary that would only be more divisive.

Last month, a U.S. District Judge in Wisconsin ruled that the government-sanctioned event, established by Congress and marked with a proclamation from the president, is unconstitutional.

"It goes beyond mere 'acknowledgment' of religion because its sole purpose is to encourage all citizens to engage in prayer, an inherently religious exercise that serves no secular function in this context," wrote Judge Barbara Crabb, who said the event violates the First Amendment's establishment clause banning the creation of a "law respecting an establishment of religion" in the Constitution.

...But it did not stop the Obama administration from issuing a National Day of Prayer proclamation this year, just as it had last year; in it, President Obama calls on citizens to "pray, or otherwise give thanks."

The Justice Department did decide to appeal, and Crabb said it was fine for the National Day of Prayer to go forward until appeals are exhausted, which is why it is being recognized today despite the ruling.
