Yes, a practicing Muslim would celebrate ramadan.

Easter and Christmas would be for the kids and for show.

Always the posturer.

care to post a link with the quote or video or audio?

'In the Audacity of Hope, Obama wrote, "I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized." In 2004, he "attend[ed] the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Trinity in the Brainerd neighborhood every week -- or at least as many weeks as he is able. His pastor, Wright, has become a close confidant." When asked about his decision to be baptized, Obama said "Kneeling beneath that cross on the South Side of Chicago, I felt I heard God's spirit beckoning me," he said of his walk down the aisle of the Trinity United Church of Christ. "I submitted myself to his will and dedicated myself to discovering his truth."

..WOW, sure sounds like JUST what a muslim would pronounce to the world in an autobiography, and JUST what a muslim would do at a chicago BAPTIST church,,,,,rofl rofl rofl rofl

so which is it folks? Is he the supportive militant black racist due to his closeness with reverend wright, or is he the sly, manipulative muslim due to where he lived as a child and how his stepfather lived?

Obama vs. Kerry

"I actually voted for it BEFORE I voted against it!"

laugh

I vote for their right in principle to build a huge Islamic Center (with mosque)
adjacent to the location of the worst Islamic terrorist attack on U.S.
civilians where thousands died. I will proclaim it so loud they will hear me all
the way in Cairo and Riyadh! (But I really don't think they should build it there...)
That's off the record. Right?

was this a christian attack?

Christian terrorist David McMenemy filled the inside of his car with gasoline and crashed into an Iowa women's health clinic. Why? He opposes a particular medical procedure which he thought was being performed at this clinic (he was wrong about this) and evidently believes that he is entitled to harm others in order to get his view across. Fortunately, his attempted suicide-bombing failed.

their terrorists are better at it, but it still doesnt make them any more representative of the religion than this nutcase is of the christian religion

Ok, some of the new yorkers actually consider 9/11 'sacred' ground because of the loved ones that died there. It is a HIGHLY suspected fact that RADICAL Muslims attacked that site and caused this. Now they want to build a MUSLIM mosque there? It is like spitting on the graves of your loved ones. Put it on a ballot in New York, and let the PEOPLE there decide. It is after all....MANY of their loved one's final resting place. I'm guessing, many of them that died in the Towers had different religions, I personally wouldn't want a Buddha statue placed on my grave site, just like i'm sure many Muslims wouldn't want a cross placed on theirs, If you are going to build on it at all, build something religiously neutral. But still again PUT IT ON A BALLOT!...How about building a memorial there for all the loved ones that were lost? I'm sure NOONE would have a problem with that.

HAVE RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE THAT DIED THERE!!!

quit making EVERYTHING a damn "IS IT RIGHT OR WRONG?"

HAVE WE STOOPED SO LOW THAT WE WOULD RATHER HAVE A GIANT CONTROVERSY TO ENTERTAIN OUR LUST FOR CONFLICT, THAN TO BOW OUT PEACEFULLY AND RESPECT THE DEAD?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

ITS NOT OUR LAND! IT'S NOT THEIR LAND....IT'S SOMEONE ****ING GRAVE!!!!! TO SOMEONE WHO LOVED THEM!!!!

QUIT BEING A BUNCH OF DISRESPECTFUL ZEALOTS FOR DRAMA!!!!

If Islamics performed the attacks, And Islamics AROUND THE WORLD praised the attacks, and Islam didn't disavow the attacks outright and chastise the people responsible, then Islam ACCEPTED responsibility for the attacks.

Can't some of you smell the coffee?

Build an Islamic center, not a bad idea per say BUT to build it in the shadow of the worst attack perpetrated in years on America as done BY Islamic radicals under these circumstances...

That is a flat out slap in our faces and totally in bad taste.

So how about this so I can say Fuque you to all who support this Mosque...

I want to rehash the religions of Greece and set up a temple to Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of Pure Eros and have orgies and a brothel RIGHT next to your favorite church or even better right next to a High School! Bacchanals every Sunday! Torpedo polishings on Tuesdays and Thursdays! I demand MY religious freedom irregardless of good taste now!

Or better yet how about Roman style Pantheon Worship. Animal sacrifices on the first of every month! Orgies every Wednesday and Saturdays! Of course I want to set up next to Day Care Centers for children too!

Some of you people only think about what appeases your senses of practicality and what is right even in the face of good taste! Why is it some people cannot see how bad this idea is!

Yeah America is about religious freedom but there is no justification for bad taste!

I think there is a fair amount of drama

I also think there is a fair amount of constitutional validity to allowing all religions equal right to practice in America

I also think it is fair to put that to a vote, although I dont know how much of the constitution has historically changed due to votes

I see this as a way for muslims to counter some of the NEGATIVE reputation that a minority of them have caused in the community, much like the police set up programs in inner city areas to reach out to the communities that have come to distrust them due to the actions of some of the less reputable ones

if the community didnt want those outreach programs, perhaps it should be put to a vote, but I kind of think sometimes leaving it to the public means leaving the public to continue negative and divisive behavior

I dont see either side in this as wrong, just coming from different perspective

one is coming from emotionalism and the other from logic,,,,in my opinion

So put the center up in a place that marked the worst attack on America BY Islamics? That does not make any sense no matter how you want to rationalize it.

The problem is nobody got to vote on it other than a city council looking for money! The people of NY didn't vote on it. If they did do you think with current sentiments they would have allowed it in the first place? Do you seriously think if voted on now it would fly? HELL NO! And the NY city council refuses to have a moratorium on their decision becasue they know it WILL be shot down!
