I am returning this thread to the forums, as there is much good debate here.

However, we all need to remember to follow the forum rules. I understand that this is a heated subject for many; the forum rules still need to be adhered to.

border patrol has increased its numbers three fold in the last decade, I think continuing that trend is just throwing pebbles at a BEAST,,,,,the only way to truly start diminishing the numbers is to attack their MOTIVATION for coming,,,


namely, those companies and employers continuing to hire/exploit them.... we should have a 'war on illegal employment', make it less profitable for those doing the hiring and they will stop, and those seeking work illegally will diminish as well..

I agree but it would be hard to implement. The people who are hiring illegals are very savy. They know how to buck the system. From my understanding we have already implemented higher fines and jail time but its not enough. We do need more Federal Govt intervention/help.

In the mean time, we have to attack the problem the best we know how. The strip of road I drive regularly is I10 Tucson to Phoenix.
Interstate closures due to illegal trafficing of humans and drugs. We have guns, swat, helicopters fighting the battle and it is only getting worse. We have officers and civilian lives being taken. We are understaffed and underfunded.

People don't see this as often nor hear about it. But we who live in AZ do. If we refer to this bill as any type of profiling..I would say it is criminal profiling. Because they are entering this country knowing they are breaking our laws, yet they do so anyway.

We have to let the Government know what we want..yay or nay. Represent ALL the people. Not just a collected few. (stats)

I still would like to see the people come out in some forum and just ask to be heard by a vote.

1. To get the majority of whatever the American Citizens want.
2. And to show the Government that "we the people" want our voices to be heard about ANY important decision.

all different names for the same thing... it's still not as big a deal as what the people hear are crying about. they have been profiling everyone as long as there has been a police force, thats how they catch druggies, prostitutes, gangsters, whatever, they all have a stereotype and the police use it to their advantage to make arrests to make us all safe. being an ILLEGAL alien is no different, no matter what law is passed or not passed, they will still use profiling to catch criminals.

I disagree, it is a big deal when someone is treated AS IF They may be a criminal STRICTLY because of their BIOLOGY( male or female , black or white), unless there is a specific definition of a specific criminal, I am totally opposed to racial and gender profiling.

Only whites in this country discount racial profiling as no big deal because they will never suffer it and they know it.
So why do they give a **** about others.

It is actually sickening to see white folks allow discrimination.

That is why racism and discrimination survives to this day because white folks turn the other cheek to it.

lots of things happen that are unfair or unjust and we must 'deal with them' but that doesnt absolve us of a responsibility to try to do something about changing those things or speak out against them when we see them

thats what the police are trying to do, but some people say they are being racist...if 75% of crimes being committed is in a poor black neighborhood, they should not go to that neighborhood and fight crime? maybe they should just pull over the white people there and hope for the best? what are you saying?

Whites have more responsibility because they are the majority, have had laws in play that have given them the advantage, have continued to perpetrate discrimination so much that the government had to create laws to curb them from doing it ie quotas, hate crimes, etc..

So all humans have responsibility to make sure that they do not condone, encourage, ignore, etc.... discrimination of any other human but whites in America are more culpable.

I dont have an issue with the police, in fact the police are actually not supporting this bill themselves because it puts undue responsibility(physically AND financially) upon their shoulders

the issue is much deeper than the police or any other force or department, the issue of profiling stems from an issue of racism which stems from AMERICAS history and the resulting views and images that Americans have learned to attribute to race

I am saying racial profiling sucks when there is no suspect description to profile off of. I am not talking about cases where crime is actually happening and being investigated. I am speaking about cases where , in lieu of any crime being committed, people are still treated as IF they may be criminal.

ok, if a policeman pulls over a car, and there are 5 guys of spanish descent inside, and none can or won't speak english,and only one has an ID on them....every state in the US says you have to carry an ID with you at all times. now, that is not reason for to ask if they are in the country LEGALY?. being here ILLEGALY is a crime, and so is not having an ID... so what is the police supposed to do?

There are citizens who speak Spanish in this country who may not have their id on them. They will at this point be harassed for being of Spanish descent not for being a criminal or even a suspect of a crime.

it's a crime not to have your ID with you. they are breaking the law. they are criminally suspect.
