Hahahaha
"My own" hypocrisy is the biggest rub.

Indeed...that goes around.

Well I have this all figured out. I'm just
not going to date anyone who isn't also a
part-time Pagan/part-time Catholic/spell
casting/rosary praying witch.

You mean warlock, yes?

Okay, so Beach did politics and relationships....I'm curious about religion and relationships. But, not so much about whether or not you can date someone of a different religion. We've done that one before. I'm more curious about what you think when you are talking to someone who claims to be a devout anything....Christian, Muslim, whatever, but their lifestyle doesn't match what they say they believe. Is that a red flag for you?

Disclaimer: I'm not talking about people who openly state they go to church but don't believe all that their religion teaches. I'm talking about those who are very involved in their churches, vocally defend the teaching of their religion and then turn around and do the exact opposite in their day to day lives. Red flag for you or you don't really care?

I'm a Conservitive Christian, but I have some non-christian ideas. Premaritial sex; I think that both
parties being committed to each other (ok maybe it's a short time)I don't see it as wrong. Which do you think is better; a woman who has lived A woman has been married four times and had children with each husband, marriage that have been short?

I also see unmarried babies different. If she is settled, good income and all - I see nothing wrong. However she's going to school, doesn't have a job, not settled, NO!

I think the comparisons are off, If I had my rathers, Id prefer a woman who had made good choices and attempted to have a commitment(marriage) before making babies. I think a woman with no children never married would have to be compared to a similarly married women with no children. I think when there are children, the ideal should be a commitment(marriage) with the person with whom we make the children.

Children are not there for us, we are there for them and I think its best for them to have their mother and father(its not the only way, but I think its the best way barring the excuse of abuse which cancels all bets)

Red flag.

I have never had a problem with those Christians who truly live their beliefs, and walk their talk. They are also usually a lot more settled, and willing to talk, mildly, about their views, answer questions without a "my way or you're going to Hell" attitude.

But I do have serious issues with those of ALL faiths, who don't walk their talk. I don't like rabid Christians, Muslims, Pagans, Atheists, etc.

Heal......heal.....heal THYSELF....I had the battleground religion, and found that to be non-sense. I've died 3 times and didn't see jebus, lights, granny, or nuthin......I keep those discusions as a private matter, and accept her views as hers....period

Hypocrisy always makes me wonder what else they might be hypocrites about....their philospohy of love? cheating? gossiping?

Ouch was right.

I also get the pre-marital don'ts and then they "do" .. but I have to admit I went thru a period of that myself with someone I cared deeply for.

I really didn't agree with it, but did it because I loved him. I have my focus again so it's no longer an issue. But I feel for those who struggle with faith vs feelings. SIGH.

ohwell

I understand that. I'm not talking about struggles. I'm talking about hypocrisy. Guess it's just my pet peeve. ohwell

I know what you are addressing Ruth. I'm just saying for some the struggle LOOKS like hypocrisy when it isn't.

Outright "do as I SAY, NOT as I DO" .. is wrong in any religion, faith, belief system.

EX: I would rather someone not SAY they are a Christ-follower and then go act hypocritically .. just don't bring His name into it all!! IMHO. ie .. take yourself down if you like but don't bring Him with you .. altho you can't LITERALLY bring God down anyway (again IMHO =)laugh

I'm sorry if I'm coming off as too emotional on this. I know you understand what I'm saying. flowerforyou

I am very open about my beliefs and practices. And if you really are a Christian then I am not someone you should be dating. Unless you're a hypocrite. Or just screwing with me

I'm sorry sweetie. I don't bend that way - but thanks for the offer

JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUST kidding you know flowerforyou
