Knowledge was being given to Adam and Eve by God. To take of the tree was to get "the knowlege OF good and evil." It was the knowing of good and evil....not the getting of knowledge. It was the discernment of what was good and what was bad. By knowing good from bad, they sinned knowing and not out of ignorance. if Adam and Eve lack the knowledge of good and evil then what type of knowledge did they have before they took from the fruit ...it could only be the same knowledge that God had given to the other animals that lived in the garden...the knowledge of ignorance |

I think the devils gift was actually EGO. In the story of Adam and Eve, it was Eves ego he worked on by putting her mind in a set to believe she might know as much or more than her God. The sad part wasnt the knowledge, it was the distrust and disobedience,, brought on by ego. exactly they weren't punished for anything they gained or didn't gain by eating of the tree. They/us as humans was/are punished for the DISOBEDIENCE of God, not listening to what our father told them/us not to do. |

They/us as humans was/are punished for the DISOBEDIENCE of God, not listening to what our father told them/us not to do. thats my take on it anyway,,,when originally told not to eat from the tree,, there was no issue there only became a second thought when the serpent convinced her that she was somehow being kept from being an equal to God |
