2012..
no not the movie,the predictions.
do you believe that the wisdom of the ancients and the prophetic visions were right?
do you believe that the mayans could actually see 2000 years into the future and predict a world wide catastrophy?.

as far as the real truth is conserned, the only future that they fortold was and end to their celestrial calander, and a new begining to our mother.
nasa even mentioned that if a giant killer from space would be hitting us in 2012,we WOULD be able to see it with the naked eye right now..
but what do you really feel?

for me...

2012 = The movie with John Cusack & Amanda Peet.

I dont believe in predictions or any prophecy.

I believe in PRESENT & FACTS and that we build our future with the choices we make.

I think too many worry what will happen in the future and don't take the time to enjoy what is before them today....slaphead

needless to say i agree with all of you,and of course being an ardent reader of science fact,id place my intelligence more into nasa..then a civilization that used to play a game of soccer with the heads of their captured foes, and who gave themselves alchol enemas.

just wondering what you all thought

There have been 5 "Mass Extinction" events in the past history of the planet. It WILL happen again, just a matter of when. 2012 may be as good a year as any to get hit by an asteroid. As far as what NASA says, it's the one you don't see that you have to worry about. I also think if they saw it coming, they wouldn't tell us because they know we would panic.

I'll be sitting on the beach here watching the show. drinker

Religion requires fear to keep people in line....you'd think we'd have evolved past that but...nah. Many religious extremist WANT the "end-o-times" to unfold because they think it will be the "second coming".

I just step around these people and move on.

The Mayan calendar ends, that is all. Nostradamus has been wrong on several predictions in the past and even some of the ones that have been deemed correct are really just tied in with a thread of truth.

Watch the economy, the economy goes the military will soon follow...after that there will be anarchy, no end of the world, just end of the government.

I watched this on the History Channel yesterday.

Apocalypse Island: - 02:00-04:00AM

Does a remote island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean hold the final clue to the Mayan's apocalyptic predictions concerning 2012? One explorer thinks he's discovered the answers that have eluded man for centuries. Jim Turner stumbled on this remote artifact over a decade ago and has spent the past ten years preparing an expedition to prove that this is the place they foretold that the gods would come to watch the final minutes of civilization as we know it.

I feel its a HUGE assumption about what the end of a calendar means...

History Channel is surely a channel but it's not about history that's for sure.

A friend of mine spent time in Peru with the Shaman there. When one brings up 2012 being the end of the world there is laughter among these people..they don't know where the idea came from.
It is more a western concept for the end of times...many have been waiting for Jesus for a very long time.

It will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator, and the earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy.

At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world's spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration.
Which I believe is a good thing...
