By telling her that he is ur ex, u putting limits in her judgement about his actions (coz she will ask u about it) and maybe u make her to feel uncofortable in front of u.

I have a mate who is sailor and he is 35 years old. He travels around the world all the time and has the same problem.

I ll tell u what i told him recently.

Untill to reach mid 30s i ll say enjoy the momemts. U ll have great xperience from this which will help u in some dilemas later on. Ofc to have gain such xperience need to talk the strangers u ll meet instead of having only the physical needs. Communication is great advantage.

Thing is.. everyone will reach an age where he needs to settle down and think about family. The bad thing is that work doesnt stop when a man getting older. And especially people who dont have pernament state is more difficult to get on into relationships. Its more difficult but not impossible. If u can find the right person to be with... u can hold to that person even if u are away for more than 6 months. The feeling that u ll c ur partner again sooner or later ... it fills u with happiness.
