Why do so many people read forums, yet not respond to posts. There are tons of views on many threads, yet not so many responses. Even threads where the response is easy and doesn't take a lot of thinking. I'm sure some will say they are shy. I don't see how someone can be shy online, though. So, what's the point of being a lurker?

Myself I read a lot of threads but only respond to those that interest me. If they are threads that don't interest me or that I feel are not worthy of a response I will by pass them. At times I will not respond due to certain questions that are personal are my business and I do feel at times some things should not be aired on a public forum.

I agree with my fellow Texas Gal I read alot of posts but find that I really don't have much to add to most of them. If I do, then I'm not afraid to post!

I'm not saying everyone needs to respond to everything. I certainly don't.

You mean those folks that post anything ever? I wonder about them too. It's entirely too easy to be anyone and hide behind a computer screen, you'd think most folks would be comfortable with the anonymity

Well it is my thought that the ones that lurk and never post, WILL NOT reply to this thread. We as posters, cannot answer for them. Unless you are trying to draw them in and get them out of their "routine".

Because they wasnt to come up with soemthing interesting to say, yet feel as if they are boring, so they are afraid to post a lie or even be themselves.
