I just need to make a point here! Based on the christian bashing thread i just wanted to see how long this thread will last before banned. But we need a question as well. Is it okay to openly make bigoted statemnets against a group of people? Generalize about what they think? It's a free country yes but are people really that ignorant?

A lot of reading I've done, mostly by ex-muslims, insist Islam is a cult, not a religion and Mohammed can be seen in about the same light as Brigham Young. They made shiite up as they went along.

The claim has been that there aren't many who practice the extremeisms of the quran. For just a few, they sure have a lot of power and do much damage.

Islams power over women is one value some men admire and defend.

I consider myself Christian, I feel so long as it is not an outright vulgar post, mature debate about the pros and cons of christianity should be permitted and not taken offensively. Noone has called us names,, I think,,lol.

As far as Islam, I see it like I see the topic of Africa,,,there are many many opinions about something most know little about besides what is in the media. When I trust information about Islam is from religious scholars or those who follow the religion,,just as I look for information on Africa from AFrican scholars and those from the continent.

The real question was not about Islam really only pointing out that people dont feel the need to come into this thread and rant and rave about Islam only Christianity! The reason being in my opinion is there is open bigotry against Christianity because of politic's nothing more! The evidence of that is based on there are few differences between the two "Islam and Christianity", stark differences yes but they are similar! So don't hate Christianity because politicians use it as a tool, just understand people have a right to freedom of religon!

I agree, why hate a doctrine that preaches to love thy neighbor. ..just because it has laws and guidelines for its believers...

as far as Christian bashing

I was taught that if you are the right kind of Christian you WILL be persecuted and bashed

the closer you can get to being Christlike you more you will suffer for it. Christ was flogged and beaten and humiliated and tortured on the cross and he accepted it

what you DONT do is get all militant and confrontational about it. as soon as you do that you get less Christlike and allow human pride to push him out

Christians should just be thankful that they dont get fed to the lions anymore

Very true statement! I am far from a Good Cristian, however raised as one i always feel the need to defend it! Not to mention they really are not bad people and most are not even involved in politics until recently! Politics infiltrated the Church as we see it recently! Before when i went to church they didnt speak of it now you see more and more of it!

Why of course, it's called "Freedom of speech". It's also called voicing your opinion. I intend to use this constitutional right until they take it away (which is already happening). With Barak Omoron it'll be a wonder if we won't all have to have his mug up on our wall in our homes, ala' Kim Jong Il. Won't be much longer! What a pathetic country this has become, very sad....

I am glad you brought this up.I don't know how many times I have read the endless insulting,put downs,and how stupid Christians are in the General religion section of this website.When ever I dare talk back and defend the Christians or start a post talking about how stupid the Atheist are I get the usual "You are close to getting banned" E-mail and of course my comments are erased.

I'm sick of this political correctness garbage.People need to start saying it for what it is.Islam is a big problem with our world today and I do realize that it is only a small minority in the big picture.However this is not just a incident here and a incident there once in a while.This is happening everyday all over the world.Everyday we read terrorist actions not coming from the Christians,Buddhist,or Jews but from people who follow Islam.

I keep hearing "we are a peaceful people and despise this action".If you despise it so much why don't you join the military,start a protest,or do something about it.Although I know most Muslims don't contribute to violence I totally believe they would jump at the chance to kill all Christians and Jews if they could get away with it.To this day I have never heard anything peaceful towards the Jews or the Christians and only hear about how they are the problem.

I think trying to insult people by their beliefs is pretty low. Of course, depending on the religion, it can be really hilarious. (Looking at you, South Park) People need to laugh, but insulting religions can spark "holy" wrath. So, be ready for a backlash if you put down religions.

Perhaps if that is your theory you should do a study to see if that is really true.You really think this world we be better off with no religion?China has no official religion.I can't remember China giving a rats a** but anyone but itself.People don't seem to be too free or happy.

We could take the 3 of the worlds worst countries and 3 of the worlds best countries and see what the majority of the peoples religions are.I think we can all agree that the worlds best,most successful,most righteous,and most free countries are all overwhelmingly Christian.Seems to me Christianity is not the root of all evil but just the opposite.

Show me a country that has no religion and tell me how it is better than the United states or the United Kingdom.
