pretty much ALL religions teach peace and love it's PEOPLE who are hateful and twist and manipulate the religions tenets to rationalize and justify their hate I disagree. Religions teach hypocrisy by default. You cannot have a rule or doctrine that excludes any person for any reason and not have hypocrisy. Christianity teaches that all sinners are welcome into the fold but they do not allow in gays and accept them as worthy of heaven. Just one example here there are more. If Christianity were true to itself and a murderer on death row repented, his life and freedom should be given back to him because that is all it takes in god's eyes to be forgiven. Christians are the proponents of the death penalty in this country. Hypocrisy. |

I just need to make a point here! Based on the christian bashing thread i just wanted to see how long this thread will last before banned. But we need a question as well. Is it okay to openly make bigoted statemnets against a group of people? Generalize about what they think? It's a free country yes but are people really that ignorant? I am glad you brought this up.I don't know how many times I have read the endless insulting,put downs,and how stupid Christians are in the General religion section of this website.When ever I dare talk back and defend the Christians or start a post talking about how stupid the Atheist are I get the usual "You are close to getting banned" E-mail and of course my comments are erased. I'm sick of this political correctness garbage.People need to start saying it for what it is.Islam is a big problem with our world today and I do realize that it is only a small minority in the big picture.However this is not just a incident here and a incident there once in a while.This is happening everyday all over the world.Everyday we read terrorist actions not coming from the Christians,Buddhist,or Jews but from people who follow Islam. I keep hearing "we are a peaceful people and despise this action".If you despise it so much why don't you join the military,start a protest,or do something about it.Although I know most Muslims don't contribute to violence I totally believe they would jump at the chance to kill all Christians and Jews if they could get away with it.To this day I have never heard anything peaceful towards the Jews or the Christians and only hear about how they are the problem. I give you a lot of credit for creating this post. Ony true if the Christians can stop the abortion clinic bombers, McVeys, ect.... |

It's a free country yes but are people really that ignorant? yes people are that ignorant. and yes it's a free country so people can voice their ignorance and bigotry as many religions, not just islam, often do. the kkk has every right in this country to shout their hatred at the tops of their racist lungs. and they have every right to require a potential klansman to profess that jesus is his savior and the son of god just as a muslim has the right to praise a jihad against infidels as allah commands him. in this country we all have the right to ignorantly follow any religion our delusions may dictate. |

and from what I've read, the Jews and Muslims lived together relatively peacefully until Hitler influenced Muhammed Amin al-Husseini the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem with advisors and money.
And it seems to me more like a personal power grab on his part to have started the conflict between the the Palestinian Arabs and the Jews. and when it comes to the Crusades, you still have to differentiate between "Christian" and the "Catholic Church" the Crusades were strictly a political thing propagated by the Catholic Church. not by Christianity in general (as was the Inquisition, another land and power grab by the church, and the enslavement of the Aztecs to strip them of their gold to line the interior of St Peter's) |

Too despise leads one to only finding fault in oneself. Choosing to try to understand leads to an open mind and more possiblities.
I have been a humanitarian for half of my life. I despise no one and especially those that try to find peace and serenity for themselves by reaching out to the religion or spirituality they use. |

Is Harvard hypocritical in wanting the top students in the country and not the drop outs? Is the monastery hypocritical for requiring one to be celibate to join? Christianity doesnt say all sinners are welcome it says those sinners who REPENT. That means, whatever our sin(which as humans we all have), if we make the sacrifice to repent and live for the Lord, he will welcome us home. Since we all have free will over our actions, I dont think thats hypocritical at all. |
