Well, from your posts on here, it's obvious no one has ever referred to you as a nun, have they?

What's with the sarcasm, sir? Considering this is a dating site, I'm assuming the OP meant he called someone "hun" in an email and she didn't respond favorably. Do you know something I don't?

l. i never was a nun, but ive been called a hun, maybe cause i was one at one time. being a nun, however, has it's advantages in this day and age. so i might try that at a later date....tho i am not one now.
2. sorry u wanted to exorcise someone not exercise them. i believe that one means to pull the devil out of you, while pushing u 2 the limits, and trying to raise your cardiovascular rate. right?
3. i checked. hun or hon is the right way to spell a term of endearment used with either sex.
4. so for all u huns, hons, or hunks a burning love, whatever keeps u happy....

Duffy, I have no idea why you care so much about why I don't like men calling me hun, but that's your problem not mine. As far as I know, you're not a man, so you shouldn't care one way or another if it annoys me. And if you were a man, for several reasons, you'd have no reason to refer to me as anything but my screen name on here, but whatever.

I'm an adult and I live in America, and I have a right to find a term offensive, just like you have a right to think it's acceptable. I also have a right to respond to a post on here honestly without being insulted or made fun of. Maybe you meant it in jest, but I find it rather classless and rude to call someone a nun just because she thinks it's tacky for strange men use familiar terms with her. What works for you doesn't work for me, and that should be cool.

Like I've told other people who've tried to chastise me, if my replies are rude, feel free to report me, but I'd rather not swap words with someone I don't know and don't care to. MAYBE if someone I knew very well called me “hon” I might consider NOT cutting his vocal cords.

Pet names are only endearing when two people know each other well – and only then should the names be original and specific to that person.

Hon, babe, baby, et al, are homogenized, general, thoughtless, and lazy.

I really detest nicknames from someone I don’t know. Its sounds smarmy and cheap.

I happen to like my name over nicknames anyway. A few try to call me Mel. I am NOT Mel and if they knew me appropriately they would know I hate Mel.
