NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - Sarah Palin's upcoming memoir is already the top bestselling book on the shopping sites of Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble, a month and a half before the book goes on sale.

The memoir from last year's Republican vice-presidential candidate, titled "Going Rogue: An American Life," is scheduled for release on November 17, four months after the book deal was announced and much earlier than planned.

The memoir, which became available for pre-order this week, has been in Amazon.com's top 100 for three days, and just replaced the latest novel from "Da Vinci Code" author Dan Brown at the top of the list.

So, my question is simple...Why?
Is it ammo for the Liberals to use to attack for ANY future prospects? Can it be a push to try to establish some creditablity to repubs and dems? Or just bc for the money?

And there is nothing wrong with that.
Considering the legal bills that are pilling up from frivolous law suits bing brouhgt against her. She could have stayed in office and used tax payer money to pay for it.

While I am no fan of Sarah Palin,Ted Kennedy had his book published weeks after his death. At least Palin won't have to try to explain a murder in her book. be seeing you

I never quite understood the taxpayer paying for a lawsuit thing. If it starts out with one group footing the bill, does it switch up in the middle because she leaves office...?

and dont politicians keep their'benefits' even if they step down? My mom was just a government worker, not a politician, but I know she took early retirement and still gets all the benefits of an employee. Cant imagine it is any less for someone in office,,

The thing about books sales is this. Publishers buy them they are not individuale sales and in fact I dont think her book is even on the shelves yet. I expect to see them piled knee deep at half price books shortly after xmas. I know of no one in the reading circles who even talk about sarah palin unless its for a good laugh. It will be the least checked out book at the Library and a total waste of a good tree to print

Yes she will, but it will the the murder of a campaign. lmao. She left her gov job because she knew very well she could make more money off her supporters than she could working for the gov. Palin cares about Palin, period. She hasn't sufficiently embarrassed the faithful base enough to stop the gravy train... YET. She should save as much as she can, because as soon as the base finds someone more electable, she'll tossed like old clothes.

As for frivolous law suites... Of course those law suites had to be a conspiracy against her.. lol

Publishers print books, they don't buy them. These are pre-sales. And book club sales aren't counted by New York Times either. Sorry, but these are real sales by real people who want to read about an average American mom who entered politics to confront corruption on both sides of the aisle. It seems that some people only support women in the workplace or politics, when they vote Democrat.
