Here's a couple of my newest ones: Gecko at waterfall canyon, basking on a rock: Great Salt Lake Sunset, Utah In case anyone is wondering (like someone did before), Yes they are mine, Yes I took them, yes they are pulled from my flickr account..I have photography on flickr, deviantart, imagekind and redbubble. Nice bokah in the lizard pic! Bet you have some nice lenses. The sunset picture's gorgeous as well. Well done MMM...actually not. LOL I have the Canon Nifty Fifty (50mm F1.8) That's my ONLY sharp lens. Then I have the standard 18-55mm..it's very soft..and the 70-300mm DG Macro lens from Sigma, which is what I used to take the picture of the Gecko and Sunset. :) |

Well you managed to fool me LOL Your kit sounds just like mine except my SLR's a Sigma SD9. I have the same 70-300mm lens, a fast sharp 50mm (two actually), and a 24-70mm zoom. Not near as wide as yours and it's soft as well. The spider pic was with the telephoto, and the others were either the wide angle or the 50. The SD9 takes really sharp pics but I find I have to photoshop quite a bit to get them in the ballpark color/contrast wise. It only shoots RAW and defiantly has it's quirks but it's a good camera. If I had the money for a new kit, I'd go for a Canon too. =) |

I would like to get into photography but I wouldn't really know what to shoot. I can edit pretty well in photoshop though. But I also need a new camera... they're pretty expensive (At least the ones I want)

I would like to get into photography but I wouldn't really know what to shoot. I can edit pretty well in photoshop though. But I also need a new camera... they're pretty expensive (At least the ones I want) If your just starting out but are serious about it, I'd get a low end Digital SLR camera; something with at least manual controls for shutter speed and aperture. That way you can learn without emptying your savings account. Photography is an expensive hobby, especially now that it's digital. Digicams become obsolete as fast as computers do. You could probably get a decent starter kit for round 500+ (I think). Something like a Canon Rebel or similar. As far as what to shoot, that's up to you to decide. I do landscapes, portraits, and family photos mostly. |

Your question earlier to artifical lighting..no...natural light, thats the only way I work. Sometimes though in photoshop when I color correct the image then I will add a bit more light. But Usually just adjusting the levels and curves is enough. You should show some more of your creepy houses! lol |

Hello Fellow Photographers.
Accept my wishful blessings for health, happiness and success to you and those you love. Wow. Now here is a topic I am interested in. I have been doing photography since I was 13 years of age and from the veins of passion from my grand-father. I would like to learn, share and create a community challenge in doing some projects as a team to increase the knowledge, open the advantages and create opportunities of creative concepts. If anyone is interested in this, we could always begin a new forum and start from there. Let me know what you think. Many Blessings, SpiritWolf |
