Instead of making new topics for each piece of art I do, I'll just continue to post art in here.

My guest cover pencils for a comic from Josh Pierce

Here is the quick thumbnail sketch(es) that I did before working on the final cover pencils

Thanks again guys and gals!

As far as mechanical pencils go... I've been used to drawing with them for a while now. I've actually pretty much exclusively use mechanical pencils. Been that way for years now. Not having to sharpen your pencil and always keeping a thin point as what I love about them. I personally use .3 and .5 lead.
Whatever you may use is perfectly fine :D

Thanks. I'll be sure to check out your work on youtube.

I never really noticed the differences between lefties and righties.
I guess it just depends on your drawing style and what type of basics you've learned. It was difficult at first for me to draw using basic shapes to build my drawings but now I can't draw without doing that first. It helps line up the proportions.

Also I don't erase much at all because if you draw light lines to build up your drawing, you wont need to. you can easily correct mistakes just by redrawing over the lines. Give it a try sometime. I'll try to make a tutorial vid or I'll see if I can find one for you.

Thanks for your input :D

This is an illustration of what I think my son will look like.
He's expected to be born late October. So I'm getting the baby shower
set up. Can't wait for him to get here.

The little stuffed toy he's holding is supposed to be me. I made myself
a cartoon character in one of my cartoon book series that I'm working
on. So it's my weird little way of including an early father and son
bond.

I also tried to keep the card simple.
Thanks for checking it out.
I would love to know what you think!

Thanks a bunch guys and gals!

I look a many art blogs. All the time.
I like to learn from others and try to apply different
styles to my artwork.

I would really like to start doing more 'painting'.
Get into being able to do more realistic art.
I used to study more realistic styles of art in highschool and
all the girls would want me to draw them 'tweety bird' and stuff like
that. So I started drawing cartoons since more people seemed interested
in it... at the time at least.

Top flight work bro. Do I detect a touch of Manga influence?

Thanks! Yessir you do lol. I've been trying to combine cartoon and manga lately. Good eye. Didn't think too many people would be able to notice:wink:

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
I'm hoping to get a job as a character designer in a top animation
studio or something. Maybe hopefully take off with a children's book career.

These illustrations are drawn by hand with pencil. Then inked by hand with prismacolor black inks pens. Then scanned into the computer and colored in photoshop. I digitally color my work with the use of a drawing tablet called the Wacom Cintiq.

I'll edit my first post, but here's a video showing my drawing process if anyone is interested.
