I don't know if anyone is watching it or not, and depending on the time
zone you are in, but on GAC - Great American Country TV, they are, and have been doing a tribute to the troops all afternoon, the 173rd Airborne right now, and others. It is really a nice tribute, talking to many service personnel today and country and western performers. Just thought I would let you know. Not sure if it is on where you live. |

It is important to also remember the vets who have been crippled !They
are called Disabled and often felt discarded as a broken toy. They have to come home and live with what is left of thier lives and most often shunned by thier nieghbors who don't understand. Timmy has changed.Who wouldn't !It took years for my folks to get used to the new me!I hated having my own family scared of me!But they finally figured out that I was just a bit slow to understand them. We have to learn how to work what is left of our bodies and our emotions. I do not want sympathy! The folks who need it are coming home before thier time and often leaving fellows dead and wondering why me? |

I don't if I can express properly how much I respect the ppl who have
served this country whether it is in combat or not. I am extremely grateful for all they have given. My dad was a marine in Vietnam and I see how it has affected him when he talks about ppl he served with and the things he saw when there. The closest I can come to that is books and film and just reading or seeing that wrenches at my heart for their sacrifice and bravery. All I can say is thank you so much all of you. |

JEEEZZZZZZZZ!!!! Txs., I am so very sorry for the blithering **** which
has invaded your very well intentioned post. GOD BLESS OUR AMERICAN TROOPS!! God bless those who are dead, those who are maimed, those who served in past wars, those who serve currently, those who served the military in peacetime only. God bless you all. We don't have to agree with Bush and all the politics to realize our military family deserves our gratitude. Bush is not there; our soldiers are and they face unimagineable horrors daily. Be thankful all you have to sweat here is rising gas prices and a questionable govt. Our brave soldiers are America. The heart and soul. What they do, they do out of respect and love for their country. They aren't there because of the political propaganda. That is not why they signed up. Their intentions have always been honorable. Respect them for being in a situation none of us would hop a plane to join anytime soon. Take your anti-America bull**** elsewhere!! |

To each their own opinion. I choose to celebrate the everyday service
people, the sons and daughters. |

karizman, you have been asked nicely to leave this thread alone, why
can't you just back out and leave these nice people alone |

Kart said "you are not being attacked you are the attackers."
That is why this thread is soooo important to these folks. Its kind of like when your mother tells everyone not to bring up the fact that grandpa is a pedehifile and molester right before you all sit down at the family reunion. They need you to shut up, and continue eating with a smile on your face even if grandpa screwed you as a tyke. very disgusting and pathetic, but needed, in order for the bloodbath to continue....all in the name of Freedom of course. Then they say "This war is all about Freedom, but shut up." What I dont understand is why TexGal keeps saying thank you.?????????? and the chuckles the wine guy, keeps laughing. but that is Freedom I guess. I support the troops too. Bring them home ASAP. |

Amen to all the wonderful prayer and poems said for our troops.
We pray for the ones who served out country and those serving our country at the moment. May God bless them all. |

Thank God these folks only care about the troops one day a year.
They will put away their flags back in the dusty closet (if they even put one out in the first place) and they will go about their Walmart, soap opra, sporto watching, duel 7-11 jobs or golf playing lifestlyes, all in the name of Freedom. They wont join this military (you can, even up to age 77, some grandmas and grandpas are even serving, you can fight up to age 42) and support the troops, they wont urge Congress for more taxes to pay for better Humviees or better heath care for returning troops. They wont scream at Congress to help Vietnam vets or gulf war vets with heath problems, they will just wave their flags one day a year. And that is a blessing. Now me and my friends support the troops every single day, by going to our local post office and reading the names of the dead soldiers once a week, by writing letters to Congress to stop using Depleted Uranium and to give more money to heath needs of victims of Agent Orange in Nam and DU problems with the first gulf war vets. We go to contiue the awarness of POWs and MIAs still in other countries as slaves, while others ignore them. We give our time and money everyday to support the troops in this immoral, illegal, insane war and want them home now. But as you see, my kind of supporting the troops is not valid here because I wont support the "war machine for Freedom." There is a big difference. The great thing about the truth is that it never fails us and grows, even with ignorant people. Like when the war first started you couldnt go anywhere without seeing dozens and dozens and dozens of Flags. Now you see none, even today. My neighborhood had hundreds of Flags and now there are none. People are waking up, even on a simple post forum. It does take time, but just look around and count the Flags............ |
