What does the shape circle mean to you?
For some it could mean unity.

Pagans view the circle and/or the spiral as the circle of life. It never really ends and everything is a cycle that eventually comes around again.

Very true what you say. I think it is fascinating to see that the "circle" is actually used in practically every religion "one way or another" and in many spiritual practices.
What would be interesting to observe is how each individual religion or spiritual practice identifies the "circle" and how it is represented in their practice. Of course such a task would be a lifetime endeavor as there are thousands of various forms of religion and spiritual practices, but perhaps identifying a few of them would show that there are similiarities indeed. This leads to a understanding that we are not that different at all. Not only is it so genetically, but also in thought. The only differences that make us different at the moment in flesh is our cultural upbringing due to demographical areas on this planet and the environment we grow up in. Now I am making it way to difficult. All because of a circle. Now I am thinking pizza. and then a blueberry pie would be wonderful about now also |

Now I am thinking pizza. and then a blueberry pie would be wonderful about now also Lunch time! Yes indeed and I also take the time to make homemade pizza. I do it because my daughter loves to play with dough. She also feels she has accomplished something very unique by baking her own pizza. |

I like this symbol, and the spirit behind the organization that created it: http://www.peaceful-spirit.org I'm going to place thir symbol on my "Labyrinth Way" as a link to thier oranization because it seems to be promoting the same basic idea of embracing all spiritualities. So there seems to be mutual support here. There is truly nothing in the "Labyrinth Way" that denies any spirituality. It's just a process of introspection really. It's basically saying "Bring your own God". So thanks for bringing my attention to this Peaceful Spirit movement. My Labyrinth Way fits in with this idealism very well. I need to read up on their site in more detail now. |

Looks like a message of coexistence to me... That's basically what I meant by 'embracing all spiritualities'. I didn't mean to imply that every individual must practice all spiritualities. By 'embracing' them, I simply mean to coexist with people of all spiritualities. The Labyrinth Way that I'm working on is intended to be toally abstract. For example the "Sun God" that starts the path off does not represent any specific deity. It represents the concept of the creator. A person can view it as Zeus, or Yawhew, or Ra, or the Holy Spirit, or whatever deity they choose. An atheist could view it as Sol, the very ball of hydogen gas that had partially condensed to form the earth and provide the energy and heat to allow life to evolve on this planet. The key abstract concept is that of "creation". The idea of coexistence is the idea of everyone standing side-by-side or hand-in-hand giving respect and love to the abstract notion of the 'Sun God'. It's just an abstract notion that has nothing to do with any particular Godhead. This is what I mean by "Bring your God". It's all about coexistence regardless of how we believe in the details. Quotes from that site seem to support this view: When there is peace among religions there will be peace in our world" -His Holiness, the Dalai Lama of Tibet "All relgions are facets of the same truth" -Sri Sathya Sai Baba There's nothing 'religious' about the Labyrinth Way. It's just a collection of abstract concepts that can be used by everyone regardless of their religion. It's all about coexistence. |
