I don't remember if I ever started a thread like this or not, but I DO know I have mentioned it before.

I have NEVER been asked on a date since WELL before my marriage. I've been divorced almost three years now. Three years of guys hitting on me, but never a date request.

Why is this? Do men not ask ladies on dates anymore? Why not? What the hell happened?

A better question...when is it too soon to ask a girl out on a date? Isn't it better and more comfortable for a woman to develop a friendship with a man she just met before going on a date? Please lemme know. Thanks.

That's one for a 'rules' thread!

How are you going to get to know each other without a "date" of some kind...isn't a date a way to spend time together and get to know each other?

depends on the woman, really.

I like it if a guy really likes me to just ask me out.

And if I like them I will say yes. If I am not currently in the mood, I may say no but I would be happy to start off a friendship with you.

If I am really not into him, I will just say no thank you.

AKA!

How to ask a women on a date: sponsor by a women!

Frances (my mothers name), I would like to invite you out to dinner next weekend, I thought going to Perkins Restaurant would be nice to start off, nothing fancy but enough of quietness to talk.

Would 7:30pm be ok with you and afterward I thought maybe if you would like to have some fun, bowling since we could laugh and have some fun.

Now if you would feel more comfortable with me paying that would be my pleasure, I do now that in this day and age a lot of women like to do dutch treat and if you chose this, then please tell me i do not want to make you feel obligated at any chance.

I would like to just have a wonderful night with you, I find you attractive and funny on the forms and I would like the chance to get to know you better.....

If for some reason you have to cancel please contact me so i do not show up alone and end up making other plans.

if a women wants to ask a man out...

Hay Keven, I was thinking, how would you like to go out tonight and get something to eat, i love Mexican food. I was thinking around 7pm and i will meet you at Mexican joe! I like that place it is so much fun, a little on the loud side but I think you would enjoy the big screen.. it is game day OSU and OU are playing....

I will be there if for some reason i am a little late, just wait.. I don't get off of work until 6:30 and i have to run home, feed the dog and take out the trash...

Anyway.. I will see you on Sat.. if for some reason you cant make it.. well it is your loss i will still be there.... LOL... I will bring a girlfriend just in case...... if it works out then i will ditch her.... Lol...

Well, I have had so much fun today, regardless if anyone cared or not.. this has been the highlight of my year....

no joking... I promise i will not do this again.. for at least...???? a few???????

have a lovely ending of the night.. and May you all find love...

My answer...

If your serious... I'll meet you at your house ... Feed the dog... I'll get the trash... Then you can let me drive you to the 'date' so when we get there all the other guys can just drooool.

but I'd rather take you to a quieter place... Games ok though. kinda hard to get to know you in the noise.

the number ratio is low because women tend to always judge a book by its cover

Dunno. They could just be some d-bags lookin' for a quick score.

I don't ask ladies out on dates anymore as it's just fruitless labor.

I didn't read 13 pages... but what is your definition of a "date request?" Do you have to use the words "Would you like to go on a date?"

genius boy, thats a good point

so I will reemphasize his question with...........

What in the hell are you talking about Snarky? If I ask you to go get a burger at McDonalds...or I say, "Hey, wanna go see a movie?" ...that isnt considered "being asked out on a date?"

so instead, I should say........"Hey would ya like to go on a date to McDonalds with me?" or "Would ya like to go on a date to the movies with me?"

I think we dont say, "dates" bc it is lame....unless we wanna do it up like dude said about the 250.00 date, which may have gotten deleted.........but ya know what I mean???

If I said to a woman, "Ya wanna go out on a date?" and I took her to McDonalds and a movie..............ya chances are I'll be back here in this thread tomorrow:banana: drinker

Well, one thing for sure, this site is a perfect example,,, You come in and register, you're here just like me, meeting new people, far from everone, sometimes close, and when you meet someone, and have a good time, laughs, etc. theeennn ... it's time to really meet.. if you live close, or if you take a chance to travel and meet the person, and when u do, or coures your gonna take this person out to dinner, or some coffee, or a movie ... it's considered a "Date" even though we don't use that phrase anymore, like you say Billy ... Wanna go out to MC'D... etc. just by going out, i think that's already a date. Opinions plzzzz smokin

I think it would just be better to say...

Would you like to get dinner?

Would you like to see a movie?

Stuff like that seems more appropriate

ya but...still....the idea of a "Date"

I don't understand what a "date" is, like genius boy said....can you explain that?

I didn't read 13 pages... but what is your definition of a "date request?" Do you have to use the words "Would you like to go on a date?"

bc he is right, in 13 pages, snarky did NOT explain what a date was

I think the word Date is: Hanging out with someone and getting to know themselves... Right ? Having a good time. :)

they will change the definition of "figure out"

I would but I am sick of hearing them cry about the distance. I am willing to make the drive and even relocate but still they whine about it. Not only that but I hear them say they want this and that out of a relationship but yet, when it's offered, they run.

I am close to just deletting and saying to hell with this site. I might as well go back to the old fashioned way but, I'm on the road to much so it's hard to build personal contacts consistently.

The internet is a great tool but, I am getting the impression some are just playing.

Cheers
