Hi rockermommyj! Welcome to Mingle!

Truth is a huge topic, and different for everyone. I like to hear everyone's views on it.

Very interesting observation. I never noticed that before. I think there are many illusions in our reality that we truly believe that may be just that..... A LIE.

In fact consider that everything you think you know to be true is ... a lie.

should all my lies therefore become true by that logic? I don't know if I can fool myself that much....

That is not what I mean. You must be true to yourself, and others.

I am speaking of the illusion of reality, the illusion of government, the illusion of what you think you know to be true in the world.

So does this lead us to the idea that reality is socially constructed or that we create it in our minds? I don't think that reality is an illusion, I think it was here long before I arrived and will continue to do so, I am merely a "Participator".

Reality is a holographic projection created by our brains after decoding specific vibrational signals. Sorry. Someone had to tell you the awful truth. smokin

AWW..Man, what have I been living for?

This world is like fantasy Island. You can have anything you want. You just have to learn the secrets of how to get it. bigsmile

See, that sounds like one of those truths that might just be a lie...anything I want, My heart's desire?, Just one Wish?

This is why Einstein could never accept Quantum Mechanics.

Einstein wanted to know truth as facts.

But when Quantum Mechanics came along Niels Borh basically said, "Because of quantum complementarity the facts stop here"

In other words, we can never know anything for certain at the quantum level because it's simply not knowable. And that's due to the quantum FACT of complementarity.

So if we accept FACT to be TRUTH then the TRUTH is that we can never know the TRUE nature of reality with absolute certainty at the most fundamental level of nature because that's a FACT.

laugh

Niels Bohr accepted this. Einstein couldn't.

In other words, Niels Bohr accepted that it's a fact that we can never know absolute truth when it comes to the true nature of reality at the most fundamental level of being.

That's where we sit with science.

It's a scientific fact of quantum mechanics that we can never know the absolute truth of reality.

Therefore if philosophy is a stab at the truth, then philosophy must consider the non-physical or 'supernatural' explanations because physics has come to the dead end of its facts.

Even String Theory doesn't help because String Theory accepts quantum mechanics and quantum complementarity as a starting premise.

It certainly isn't going to solve the mystery of quantum complementarity if it is built upon that as an accepted starting premise.

All String Theory promises to do is to marry General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. But no actual wedding date has been set. In fact, I'm not even sure if there's even been a meaningful 'proposal' at this point in time.

They're merely dating each other at a pasta party right now. laugh

One who does not believe or accept any kind of spiritual reality is trapped in the prison world of MIND and will be trapped there with all the mind stuff, as it is projected. Matter is all mind stuff projected into a virtual holographic matrix. Memory is data stored in matter and matter is mind stuff.

Our reality is created inside of our brains and is an outward projection of vibrations that we decode into a three dimensional forms. Very much like our dreams.

We are not our bodies or our brains. We are consciousness.

Ooohh, I hate QM! First it's a wave, now it's a particle...all depending on one's viewpoint. Does this actually mean that our viewpoint affects matter or is our viewpoint merely defective?

ON THE OTHER HAND -- there's always the Other Hand --

IF EVERYTHING WE KNOW (i.e. REALITY) IS JUST AN ILLUSION -- "a holographic projection created by our brains after decoding specific vibrational signals" -- (i.e. subjective, Not really true),
THEN HOW CAN WE BE TRUE TO OURSELVES AND OTHERS? ? ? * * *

Our viewpoint effects our perception of what we are viewing.

So I want to know Why...we attach names and meanings for everything we find in the universe...so there must be a reason why our viewpoints affect our perception...is it a clue pointing to FACT and TRUTH or is it just a fluke?

Most probably, the latter -- i.e. "a fluke" -- since TRUTH is a relative matter... (and most of the FACTS are based on TRUTH!)

The reason we attach names and meanings for everything we find in the universe IS for purpose of having a reference -- rather than referring to things as THIS or THAT... (since we indeed perceive the surrounding world differently.) Thus, everything requires a frame of referrence -- otherwise it is Undefined! * * *

well, I know why we attach names and meanings...but it's just that we're so busy about it. We have a drive to know more and more, it's never enough. I want to know what the drive is for collecting all this info, why is our DNA making us do this?
