and now some mean neighbor would tell ya to clean that mattress out of your yard it is an eye soar

Maybe if that neighbor was winx.

I'm not a mean neighbor.laugh

Maybe not. You a lot more attractive than the mean neighbors I had growing up.

There was one we called Old Joe. I think he hated everyone including squirrels. He would allow anyone to use his sidewalk and would use his pellet gun to shoot squirrels of the telephone poles then throw them into the neighboring yards. noway

Thanks.blushing

I think I knew him.laugh

I'm the one that gives the kids popsicles when it's hot outside.

We used to visit a lady in our neighborhood that would give us doughnut holes. We thought she had some kind of magic that she could make doughnuts out of the holes.

I am 55 years old. I know when I was a kid and a young teen...in my state; there were barely any sidewalks to be seen. They were in the cities and main streets for bus stops and walking into town. But the housing neighborhoods had very few. It was very pretty. I am sure we would have used them as well. I remember we had gravel driveways too. Then one day the city came in and tore up the yard and street making us park away from the house to lay down a new road with driveways. wow. We had a real driveway now. I lived in the city. I remember when I walked home from school (yes, we walked home as far as two miles) I always walked either in the street or a grassy yard.

Sidewalks were very rare in neighborhoods.

Even when my kids were young we didnt have sidewalks. I go back every now and then to see the house we had, and there is still no sidewalk. Not anywhere in the area.

The town where my son just sold his little house still has none except where it leads to stores and in the middle of town. Only the newer additons have them unless the people of the neighborhoods want one, then they will get together and submit. I have no clue whether they will have to foot some of the bill. I imagine it would be voted on by the city and justified or not.

You know? It just show us that not all things are the same.

Sidewalks or no. What one has another may not.

I think it is cool that this is being talked about. Cause...I am in amazement that far and long ago some cities had them I mean towns or cities (outskirts).

And, it also brought back some memories I had not thought of in a long time. Kind of relaxing thoughts.

I returned recently to my old stomping grounds of NYC and while there were more houses, I found it more congested not more advanced, if that makes sense.

and yes, little kids still playing on the sidewalks and the bigger kids in the street waving
