Which makes sense, but if I remember correctly this was added after complaints from neighbors that this truck was obstructing another neighbors view or home. Not a part of original by laws

Well, that does change things. I myself would never move into a HOA community, I don't particularly want to have everyone else tell me I can't paint my house pink with purple polka dots if I want to laugh laugh laugh

That happens a lot here. If you live in a historic area, you have to keep the house close to its original look.

There is an upper class county here. Beautiful homes. They have tons of rules.

The subdivision that I lived in 15 years ago, made a rule after we built the house. They voted that houses couldn't have fences that went past the back of the house. We were grandfathered in for that one.

If you're rich enough to live in a fancy house in a neighborhood that has parking rules, you're rich enough to just pay the fines. They go to help out the rest of the community.
Don't just pay the fine, send in a little extra. Spread the wealth.laugh

Just wait and watch 'em when Socialism really comes to their front door.

Would you like to live next door to a house that had junk cars parked in the front yard? Does it look nice when they have a couch in the front yard? It ain't pretty.

Rules make the neighborhood look nicer.

I do agree, though, that making a law to not park in one's own driveway is extreme.

Part of my bus. is Lawn Care and Trash removal.
In the city I just moved from they have an ordinance. Grass cannot exceed 1' high or the city will fine them $250.00. I got lots of calls to clear yards. I think more cities should make more laws restricting what you can have in yards. Unsightly yard ornaments, too tall hedges, etc.
P.S., I live in the country, county. can do pretty much what I want there. This far south the county neighborhoods are called colonials and if you want to build and addition, you are only required to get a building permit if you intend on putting in more water or sewerage lines. No codes on building, otherwise.

if you want to comtrol what goes in the yard you can see

hey keep in mind that your neighbors or neighboring properties do affect your property value.

regardless of whether you have the prettiest privacy fence or not.

Considering many (if not most) socialists are anarchists... Ya, no. You're thinking of fascism and getting confused by too much Fox.

Pro tip, Fox NEVER uses dictionary definitions. NEVER trust them when they start throwing words like socialism or conservatism around.

Pretty privacy fence - blocks out the neighbors mess

Does it help increase your property value - no, just like curtains just blocks the view not what's there.

When I am in the position to buy where no one else will affect my property value, I'll buy an island.

I read an article in the paper the day that some people are having their homes foreclosed on for not paying their home owners association fees because of financial difficulties.

not sure an HOA can foreclose on a property - they do place liens on property but can they really foreclose?

The article stated that it is a common clause written into the contract with home owners association.
