I don't know how it would all work and come out but maybe it could be a wake up call. and Texas is pretty self sufficient right now (oil, cattle, tropics, cottons etc) One should never threaten that which they cannot or will not do. Texas would be the worst place to live if they left the US. Government control as they know it would end. Power struggles would ensue. The texans are fooling themselves into believing they are somehow better than the rest of the country at some level. Makes me think that you probably ain't from around here. Been there. Ain't so great. Lots of hotheads running around with weapons for the most part. And their racial inequalities are still astounding down there. It amazes me every time I go down south.  I guess I would have to say as the righties say to the lefties when they have a problem with how this country is run, "If you don't like it, leave". Right? My opinion of course. that first paragraph is silly....as for the 2nd paragraph...why would someone stay in a place they hate? First paragraph is accurate and that is exactly what I said. Maybe, texans who do not want to be Americans anymore should consider another country??? I am just reiterating what they tell others.  Amen Dragoness. The Right Wingers like to call people Unamerican and to get out .yet they dont much like it when you say it to them. They want everything on their own terms. If they dont like America then they can move to a right wing country like Iran or Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia. They dont much like it when you tell them that.

We're not really alone. 20 some odd other States have or are doing the paperwork to restore their Sovereignty, a prelude Secession. February 6th, 2009 States including Washington, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Hawaii and New Hampshire have drafted bills reminding the Federal Government of their voluntary submission under the Tenth Amendment. Here is a list of the others claiming their Sovereignty; AL, AK, AR, CA, CO, GA,ID, IN, KS, ME, MO, NV, PA, SC Anybody here posting from Oklahoma? I am here to tell you Colorado is not considering at a political level at any point. I already verified it. I Colorado is on the list. Nothing can be done to stop them from Seceding, if they so choose. War could stop it Assuming that you got more guns.  The US Military does.

I would say have Congress Vote on it. Have all Texans vote on it. Have the United States vote on it. Then use the statistics to determine the outcome. If the majority agree then the secession succeeds. If the marjoity doesn't agree then Texas remains part of the United States. Just a idea. They dont take it very well.I was told many time by rightys to move to left wing countries like France or Switzerland, but those are much nicer places than right wing countries like Iran,Saudi Arabia,and Afghanistan.

Yep..they had the advantage in Viet Nam...how did that work out. Same is true in Afghanistan...(When Russia was a super power they gave up after 10 years)...America ain't doing no better. Iraq?...exactly how well funded are the insurgents there compared to the U.S. expenditures of money, supplies and lives? Guerilla tactics work...it helped the U.S. defeat England... I was simply referring to the biggest (hypothetical ) and most well armed guerilla population on the planet. |

Would we finally get to take care of our borders with Mexico in a more forthright manner? Yeah, I'd have to move out of Texas. I pledged allegiance to the United States and chose US citizenship when I had turned 18. I think it's odd and retarded how in Texas the kids have to learn ALL ABOUT Texas history, as a priority over US History. Although there is interesting enough stuff about Texas, they should focus on all states, not just Texas. Texas has always maintained a false sense of snobbery. I remember some dude in the 80's wanting to build a fence around Texas so nobody else could get in. The joke was, sure, and then someone would fill it with water and let them all drown. And if Texas secedes, they'd HAVE to do something about those aliens since they SUCK our resources and drive uninsured. SKPCG, Where are you from? It's sad about what you're saying about the history classes. My child is learning about U.S. history and world history. |
