'Love' is not a strong enough word for the genious of Stephenie Meyer! I own and have read the 4 books that are currently released, and am *patiently* awaiting the release of Midnight Sun.
I saw the movie in theatres, and I own it now also.
I can't wait for the release of New Moon either...it should be in theatres by the end of '09 but no later than Jan 2010. I just hope the new director Summit Entertainment hired doesn't stray from the story too badly! At least Catherine Hardwick got the essential storyline into the movie, Twilight. Though, if anyone just saw the movie and skipped the books, rethink it! The books go so more into detail on everything than what the movie captured overall.

surprised There is going to be another book???

Midnight Sun is Twilight written from Edwards perspective. See my post on page 1 of this thread to read the first 264 pages of Midnight Sun on the authors website.

Oh ok I have read that I wish she would do that to all the books but would expect it would be hard...

nvkikigirl,
I remember The Lost Boys...Older flick, but was very good. The sequel wasn't nearly as good as the first though, IMO.
I definitely reccomend you going ahead with the books of the Twilight saga; book #1 and #2 are excellent, but books #3 and #4 are unbelievable! biggrin And especially if you liked the movie, there's so much you missed out on.

Also, on author Stephenie Meyer's homepage, you can find "outtakes" for the books. These are sections of the books that got cut out during the final edit before printing. These "deleted scenes" are very good too. Enjoy!

True...but every story has 2 sides. biggrin Seeing Twilight from Edwards perspective just in the sample she's posted, gave more insight into the story. It adds so much more to the story, since you missed out on where Edward went when he dissapeared, his personal conversations with his family, his inner thoughts...or hearing other's thoughts even. None of which Bella could have contributed from her POV since she wasn't there to witness these things.

At least one of the deleted scenes from Twilight on the DVD was filmed in preparation of the coming Midnight Sun, but cut from Twilight since they stayed pretty true to it being in Bella's POV.

the movie was good but not as good as the book...i stayed up all night reading it.Loved the vampire baseball and the history of Edwards dad and how he changed his affliction to something good.

I just gotten into the Twilight craze, and must say that I am in love! I just cannot get enough of it. I saw the movie for the first time Last Tuesday and went out and bought it on Friday with the first two books. I am already half way through the first book, and am just in awe of it. I cannot seem to get enough. I put the book down and it leaves me wanting it more. But I cannot just sit here reading unfortunately life calls.

I saw the movie before reading the books. Which I am glad that I did. As I am reading the books I can not hear the characters voices and almost see there expressions. The movie does leave out a lot but it just makes you appreciate the book that much more.

I heard that New Moon was due in theaters in November around the same time that Twilight came out. I don't know. I do know that I will be right there at the first viewing waiting in line to see it.

Thank you Stephanie Myere for the new addiction (like I don't have enough alreadygrumble laugh).

Do any guys actually like this movie? From the trailers and reviews it sounds like the epitome of chick flick.

Unknown as no guy, straight or gay will admit to seeing the movie or reading the book.

Definately a good movie-but then again there are very few vampire movies/books I don't like!

I really enjoyed the book. Here's some trivia: the guy who played the vamp hated to take showers...they had to force him to shower everyday so that he could do the close ups! hahaha.

I didn't enjoy the first book of the series..probably because I had seen the movie. But I did buy all the rest and enjoyed them very much.

I know 3 guys who have seen the movie. One is a teen (14 yrs old) another is 23, and one who is 38. The first 2 guys said it was great. The 14 yr old was into the special effects, the 23 year old said it was a love story but had enough in it so he wasn't sleeping or gagging. Sigh, the 38 year old said it was a kids film. laugh

When I went to buy my copies I wanted them all is soft cover, I prefer the soft covers as they are easier to hold and carry around. But the fist two were the only ones available in soft cover. The other two were only available in hard cover. Number three not due to come out in soft cover until August. No word on the fourth one. So I was like OK, and just decided to pick up the first two for now.

I started walking around the book store and noticed on a shelf The whole Twilight series in paper back. I was just told that only the fist two were available in paper back. So i was exited and pick up the other two books to discover they were in French.

I was like you. Wondering why I have not learned French after all these years of living in Canada. frustrated
