I think the majority of those who are in love with 50 Shades of Grey are a first time reader of this type of book, which is a good thing. (I mean, look at how popular they have become). If everyone loved the same type of book it'd be a boring world and too predictable.

Thank you.
Lacking in their own sex lives? no...just perhaps a few fantasies that just cannot be lived out...or just too many thoughts in her head. |

I think it depends on so many various degrees.
The degree of seriousness you want to be in with your 'significant other'. The degree of open relationship status you are both willing to take. There are a lot of people out there who can handle being more open than others. I think security and jealousy have a lot to do with it. I also think that there has to be an understanding and a belief that sex does not equal love. Are you the type of person who believes that the 2 go hand in hand, or are you the type who can completely disconnect them from each other? |

I think in this case it has more to do with the level of "porn" you are use to reading. I have read a lot of forums about this book. (being a writer myself with a published book in this genre you can understand my reasoning for keeping up with the hype). It's a love/hate thing. For most women who are not use to reading this type of genre, this book is a taste (sorry for any pun intended here) of that type. For others who have read and even perhaps experienced it, this book is ...."silly" What makes me laugh is the amount of people who put women down for enjoying these books. Whether it's because they don't enjoy that genre of books, or they feel they've read better written books, or whatever else the reason may be, it happens a lot. It's just a book. If you enjoyed it, great. If not, there are many others out there for you to read. Oh I absolutely agree. I've seen a lot of that in the forums as well. Honestly, I have to say even though the book was not of interest to me I am glad it happened. I have actually sold quite a few books of my own because of this "epidemic". lol. |

Each time I have ever read the book before watching the movie, the movie could never hold up to the story.
In this case, I think I'll wait for the movie. |

I bought the first book...because of all the hype.
I couldn't finish it. I give the author applause for her success but honestly it was quite amateur for me. Christian started out as amazing...but really couldn't make me believe what was so awesome about Ana. The repetitious lip biting and eye rolling and emails....I thought I was reading something from junior high. I did stop reading it. I want to see the movie. Praying that it will be made by someone who can turn this into more of an adult interest. |

i just don't see how it will happen.
that right there is like an empty promise to me. BUT it's definitely a good start. The fact that someone can run one term in office and continue to get full salary and benefits for the rest of their lives pisses me right off. give them a severence package and cobra options like the rest of us and then let's see how fast the deficit goes down. |

i think its better to have that broken heart to remember back on.
it's better than not having an experience or love at all. all you can do is go for it. jump in with both feet and enjoy life as it happens. if it doesn't work out then there will be another. even though it hurts at the time, i'd still never change a thing. |

Does anyone else think it humorous that he began his debate by saying he was going to cut government employees?
Really? |

Interesting points on both sides...
I will, most definitely, be more attentive in the debates coming up. |

Ya know, I have been an Obama supporter for a while, but after last night's debate I began to question a lot of things. I turned my head the other way and saw Romney and began to cry.
Should we not have a better choice??? |

I actually think about how my children are raised in this aspect. They have a lot of respect toward us (the parents) and because of that I know they look up to us and what we believe. In this regard, I try NOT to push my beliefs and values too much because i DO want them to become their own person.
There is a fine line between teaching them good values and teaching YOUR values. |
